Chapter 6

"What in the world is taking the food so long?" Grandfather barked as we all sat around a table in the far corner of The Grille. It was a celebration for Emily and Nikolas who would be getting married in a couple months and of course, Grandfather wasn't in a festive mood.

"Edward we just ordered ten minutes ago." Monica said as she sat back in her chair, picking at the crimson table cloth

"Well do they know that it is our food? I pay all those people in there, they should show a little more respect for..."

"Edward, dear, we had a large order and they have to cook the food so we don't get sick. Be patient." Grandmother said as he obediently stopped complaining and sat back in his chair as Grandmother reached over and patted his arm lovingly.

I looked around at the family and wondered how I had been roped into coming. Emily was sitting beside me to my left with Ned to my right. Skye was avoiding eye contact with Ned at all costs, while Justus and Nikolas talked quietly about something. Monica and Allan were sitting between Lila and Ned, looking extremely bored. At first everyone tried to put up a front of being excited and happy. We were happy for Emily and Nikolas but to think this dinner would be different from any other was a bad assumption. The only difference was that no one said much, in order to not start yelling and cause a scene!!

I loosened my tie as I scanned the room, first to the dance floor that only had a few couples occupying it, then to the bar that seemed to be in good business at the moment. Finally, I looked towards the entrance and my breath caught in my throat when I saw Georgie walk in. She was gorgeous! She was wearing a black dress that seemed to have been made for the sole reason as to be worn by her. Her hair was left down in loose curls and her smile only added to how beautiful she was. She was standing in the doorway that separated the hotel from the restaurant and my heart plummeted when I saw Guy walk in and slip his arm around her waist with ease as he whispered something in her ear cause her smile to broaden. He whispered something else to her and she laughed out loud as she lightly smacked his arm and blushed as he hugged her closer to him.

Georgie's POV

"I can't believe you just said that!" I laughed

"What? Those two guys were drooling when they saw you." I said as the hostess took us to a table that was a good distance from where Dillon and his family were sitting. I had managed to quickly look around the room before Dillon saw me. Guy held my chair out for me quickly and kissed me before he walked around to his seat as the waiter handed us each a menu. We told him what we wanted to drink and he left promising to be back in five minutes to take our orders.

"There is a much better chance that they were checking you out, not me!"

"If only." He said as he looked down to his menu.

"You clean up pretty nice, has anyone ever told you that?" I said with a laugh. Guy was in so many ways different from Dillon, other than the obvious. They were practically wearing the same thing: black dress shirt and slacks with their hair tamed by gel. Dillon was wearing a tie, from which I am guessing, was under Edwards insistence. Guy wore his outfit like it was nothing new. Very casual and nonchalant, where as Dillon hated being dressed up and from what I saw, he looked very uncomfortable. "So what's the verdict?" I asked as I leaned in towards him.

"He can't take his eyes off you." He said as he leaned in and pushed a piece of my hair behind my ears. "I told you that dress would knock his socks off." He said as the waiter came back with our drinks. We pulled back and gave him our orders before he quickly went back into the kitchen.

"As I was saying." Guy said with a wink as he reached across the table and grabbed my hands in his, rubbing his thumb over my knuckles soothingly.

Dillon's POV

As much as I tried to focus on the family to keep my mind off of Georgie and Guy, I couldn't help it. My mind and my eyes kept wandering back over to them. Each time I looked over there they seemed to be closer and closer. I hate it, it is making me sick watching it! So I excused myself from the table and walked out into the lobby of the hotel and out the doors, reveling in the cold, fresh air. It seemed like it was a hundred degrees in their and the room was closing in on me. I found a bench along the building that was away from everyone and sat down resting my head in my hands as I breathed in deeply.

"What are you doing out here?" Skye asked as I sat up quickly.

"I had to get out of there for a few minutes." I said as I moved over to make room for her to sit.

"Same here." She said with a laugh as she sat down. "Did yours have to do with a certain girl who just showed up on the arm of another man?" She asked with a sympathetic smile.

"Did yours have to do with my brother?" I said in rebuttal.

"I asked first." She said as she nudged my arm with her elbow.

"Ok, yes that is why I came out here. I couldn't watch it anymore, just as much as I couldn't not watch." I said frustrated as I rested my head on the wall behind us.

"Let me guess, you made a mistake, so the two of you broke up. You still talk to each other and try to get along but all you want to do is be with her, and she seems to have moved on?" Skye said with a wave of her hand.

"Yea, am I that obvious?" I asked shaking my head.

"Well, it's obvious that you are hurting, but have I ever told you how many relationships I have been in?" She said as we both laughed. "So are you going to go down without a fight or are you going to get her back?"

"Of course I want to get her back, I just don't see how that is possible. What I did is unforgivable, I don't think she will ever trust me again."

"Does this have to do with that girl that is always following you around everywhere?"

"Yea, her name is Sage. She wasn't the start of the problems but she is the root of them. I was watching her for Lorenzo, and he was paying me to do it. After Georgie and I broke up I kept watching her because I still needed the money." I said trying to justify my actions.

"What was so bad that made you two break up? I swear out of every relationship in Port Charles, married or not, I would have sworn that you two had the real thing." She said.

"We did until my mother got involved and it was like a train wreck after that. I gave away something of mine that was supposed to be only for Georgie to have." I said as I looked up at her. At first she didn't get my hint but soon her eyes grew wide.

"Ohhh, Dillon I am so sorry."

"Why, it was my fault. I tried to apologize but it didn't seem to phase her and then Sage just kept rubbing it in one way or another any time we would see Georgie." I said.

"That was your first mistake right there! Put yourself in Georgie's position. Her boyfriend gives it up for whatever reasons to a girl that is only out to humiliate her and then he keeps hanging around the girl. That is like a complete slap in the face every time she sees you two." Skye said as she looked at me incredulously.

"I know that now, I just figured it out a little to late. I quit working for Lorenzo about a week ago and I have stayed away from Sage, but that just doesn't seem like enough." I said as I looked down at my hands that were folded in my lap.

"No it's not. You have to prove to Georgie that if she gives you one more chance this time, you won't give her any more reasons to need her forgiveness ever again." Skye said as she shivered, the coldness of the air finally hitting us. We both stood up.

"Thanks Skye, you know before you asked for my help with the whole Stefan's funeral fiasco, I didn't really think you knew anymore about me other than I was Ned's brother and Tracey's son." I said as we walked back into the hotel.

"You'd be surprised, I'm pretty observant. Just like I have caught Georgie looking over at you many times tonight. I saw the look in her eyes, you're not down and out yet." She said as she linked her arm with mine and we walked back into the restaurant and over to the table.

Georgie's POV

"Ok he just came back, God I was getting worried that he left." I said, I knew that he would have to be really upset to just leave his family and go somewhere.

"The food will be here in a few minutes, but until then," Guy said as he stood up and walked over to me and extended his hand "may I have the distinct pleasure of dancing with you?"

"Yes you may!" I laughed as I slipped my hand into his as we walked out onto the dance floor. Guy placed my arms around his neck as his hands slid down my sides to rest at my waist. We slowly started to sway to the soft music, as I laid my head on his shoulder. We didn't say anything as we moved in slow circles around the dance floor, which was closer to where Dillon was sitting. I could hear Edward complaining to Allan about something and I lightly laughed as Guy drew me closer to him.

"Hey." Guy whispered in my ear as I pulled back from him and looked into his eyes.

"What?"

"Just go along, ok?" He whispered to me again as I nodded my head. His hands that were resting loosely on my hips started drifting further south.

"Not here." I gigged as I shook my hips lightly, his hands returning to my waist obediently.

"Later?" He asked.

"If you're good." I said as he pulled me against him, closing all gaps between us.

"Very nice. You handled that gracefully. He saw and heard everything, and now looks like he wants to kill someone." Guy whispered as he lightly kissed the curve of my neck causing me to giggle.

"I think our food is coming." I said as he grabbed my hand and we walked back over to our table where the waiter was setting out food on the table.

Dillon's POV

I had completely lost my appetite as I watched them dancing, realizing all that I had failed to do while we were dating. I never really took her out on a real date, the only one I tried to, was a disaster from the beginning. Breaking into Carly's club only to be interrupted my Maxie, Kyle and Zach who seemed to live to ruin everything for us, then. To top it all off we were almost killed when two mob goons were going to torch the place. I never took her out to a restaurant and danced with her, I was always to involved in whatever trouble I could get into thinking that was what she liked. Now I realized, that quick thrill for her was great but that wasn't what she was about.

"Aren't you going to eat dear?" Lila asked as she motioned to my plate that I hadn't touched.

"I'm sorry grandmother, but I just don't feel very well right now." I said as I looked back to see Georgie steal a piece of steak from Guy's plate. He was quick and grabbed her hand, only to take the fork and feed her the steak as he leaned across the table and kissed her cheek. I groaned in discontent as she giggled at him and I threw my napkin on the table. I looked to Emily and mouthed an apology for the way I was acting as she followed my gaze and saw them.

"If you don't mind Dillon, I feel like dancing and Nikolas seems to have two left feet when it comes to that particular subject." She said as she smiled warmly at me.

"Yea sure." I said as I stood up and helped her out of her chair. We walked over to the dance floor and I took her hand in mine as my other seemed to cover the small of her back. "Ok, Nikolas is one of the best dancers I have ever seen, whats up?" I asked as we glided across the floor to the music.

"Yea, but you are very good yourself, where did you learn to dance like this. I can barely keep up. I never thought of you as much of a dancer." She said as she blushed.

"Well when you practically grow up in Europe you learn quickly how to dance. Not being able to dance over there is like not knowing what a McDonalds is here. It is practically unheard of." I said as we both laughed.

"So how are things with Georgie." Emily asked seriously.

"As of right now 'things' are almost non-existent." I said as I lifted her hand in mine and spun her around before continuing to dance.

"I know you, you're not done. How are you going to get her back?" Em asked as Tchaikovsky started playing in the background.

"I have a few ideas," I told her vaguely. "Do you waltz?"

She raised an eyebrow. "Do you?"

"Abominably," I replied, extending my hand. "Will you do me the honor?"

Emily curtsied, her exaggerated flourish matching mine. "The honor is all mine, sir."
