"Dillon I'm getting bigger all ready. Look" I said as I turned so he could see me from the side. It had only been a couple weeks since I found out I was pregnant, but I was sure I looked the part.
"Georgie I can't see anything. You look the same." Dillon said as he slipped his arm around my waist. We arrived at Kelly's and decided on grabbing a table outside. Dillon pulled out my chair for me and then sat down in his chair across from mine.
"You're just saying that to make me feel better, and look, my hands are even swelling. My thumb ring used to come off really easy and now I have to twist it to get it off" I said holding my hand out in front of him. He grabbed it and looked at it like he was examining it for something.
"OMG, you're right, your hand is huge, you'd better take all of your rings off before you can't and then we'll have to cut them off." He said trying to keep a straight face. At first I thought he was serious but then he started laughing.
"You're such a jerk." I said as I smacked his hand away when he went to grab my mine again.
"What? You were getting all paranoid on me so I had to lighten the mood." He said as he sat back in his chair.
Maxie walked out of Kelly's in her apron. Mac had made her get a job here after she pulled the stunt of trying to steal drugs from the hospital for Kyle. She had been grounded for a month, and then Mac told her that she wasn't to leave the house unless it was to work. "What are you two doing here?"
"To eat, what else?" I said kind of snappy. She looked suprised at my comment.
"Well you'd be suprised at what I've seen happen here. What is your problem?" She asked eyeing me suspiciously. I hated it when she did that.
"Nothing." I said
"Something's up with you. You have been acting strange for a while now, and I'll find out what it is whether you tell me or not, so you might as well just tell me now." She said. Suprisingly she didn't sound mean but worried.
"Nothing, nothing is wrong." I said trying to sound convincing.
"Whatever, what are you two going to eat?" She said as she took the pen from behind her ear and wrote down our orders as we told them to her and then went back inside.
"I should have known I couldn't hide this from Maxie. She can always tell when I am lying." I said as I looked it to Kelly's where Maxie was cleaning off a table and then I looked back to Dillon.
"Don't worry about it, you still have time before you are showing to much to hide it. I still think you should tell Mac." Dillon said
"It's weird hearing that from you when your idea of handling things is to steal a motorcylce and leave town." I said as I sat back and crossed my arms over my chest..
"Well this is something totally different. God are you going to be moody like this the whole time?" He shouted. I looked around to see if anyone was around and heard him. Luckily there wasn't.
"I don't know!" I shouted back. Then we just sat there in silence, not wanting to talk to the other. A few minutes later Maxie came back out with our food and looked back and forth between us. I knew she was burning to know why Dillon and I weren't even looking at each other, but she dropped it for the time being and went back into Kelly's.
"Look, i'm sorry. I shouldn't have started yelling at you. It isn't your fault you can't control when you are going to bite someone's head off." He said as he ate a few fries.
"Yea, well this is just too much for me to handle. I mean most people find out before they are begining their second trimester. I was just shoved right into this without having much time to get used to it. I should have known. I'd feel light-headed and nauseous, or I would get mad or cry at the drop of a hat. I don't know why I didn't realize it earlier." I said as I put my head in my hands.
"Well besides the physical stuff I was pushed into this suddenly too. Hell I feel sick sometimes and I get mad real easy, that doesn't mean I'm pregnant. Well you know what I mean" Dillon said as he stood up and came over to where I was sitting and helped me stand up. Just then the food that I had just ate all caught up to me. Luckily it was just a false alarm but I did feel light-headed.
