| Chapter 10 It had been two months since we told our families about me being pregnant and things had gone pretty good for the most part. Except for the ocassional fight between Dillon and I, but half-way through them all I realized that we were fighting over something incredibly stupid and was just a result of my hormones. Just recently Mac started willingly talking to Dillon and not just whenever it was needed. We had all started converting the spare room into a nursery which was so fun to decorate it, but I wasn't able to paint, because of the fumes. We haven't bought a lot of clothes yet becasue we don't know what sex the baby is yet. So everything we have bought has been unisex, but I would only get cute things, because some unisex clothes are very ugle, to say the least. "Well everything looks fine. Are you sure you don't want to know the gender of your baby?" Dr. Meadows asked as we were getting ready to walk out of her office. "I'm sure, but I have to go to the bathroom really quick. Sorry to run." I said as I quickly walked to the closes restroom. I swear it felt like the baby was sitting on my bladder or something. After I was done I walked back out to the main lobby were Dillon was talking to Monica. As I walked up the both looked at me and smiled. "Look at you, you are getting so big. But in a good way." Monica said as she rubbed my very round belly. In just two months it had gotten so big, everyone thought I was already to term and were shocked to know I still had another two months to go. For the most part people were happy for us and offered their help, but there were the select few who, after finding out, avoided me. That didn't really upset me much because they were the people that I could really care less whether they approved or not. "I know, I started freaking out thinking there was another one in there that they just misses, as big as I am." I said as Monica laughed. Just then Bobbie walked by. "How's everything going?" She asked as she went behind the desk and filed some papers. "Pretty good. I'm just tired all of the time." I said as the baby kicked. I jumped a little and everyone looked at me shocked. "Are you all right?" All three of them said at the same time. I started to laugh, the expressions on their face was priceless. They all looked ready to jump into action. "I'm fine the baby is just kicking." I said. "Can I feel?" Monica asked. I nodded and took her hand and placed it where the baby was kicking. When she felt it kick her eyes lite up. "I want to feel, too!" Bobbie said as she came around the desk and over to us. Monica moved her hand and I put Bobbie's down in it's place. "That baby is strong, no doubt about that. Do you know what it is?" Bobbie asked as she lifted her hand off my belly once the baby stopped kicking. "No." "Yes." "What? How do you know?" I asked Dillon. "When you went to the bathroom I asked Dr. Meadows what it was." He said as he looked like a deer caught in headlights. "I thought you said we were going to be suprised?" I asked getting a little angry. "No, YOU said you wanted to be suprised. I wanted to know and I got my first opportunity to find out just now and I did. Don't worry I am not going to say anything." He said throwing his hands up in the air. "We are going to go and leave you two alone." Monica said as Bobbie and her both gave me a hug and then walked away. "I can't believe you!" I said as I walked towards the elevators and pressed the down button. The elevator beside me opened and I got in, Dillon quickly jumped in before the door shut. "What is so wrong with me wanting to know. I'm not going to tell you, you can still be suprised. I just really wanted to know." He said as he came over to hug me but I pushed him away. "You did that on pupose didn't you?" I yelled. "Did what? Georgie why couldn't I find out what the baby is?" He asked as the elevator door opened and we got out and walked to the car that wasn't to far away. "Because that is just not fair." I said as I got in the car and slammed the door shut. Dillon didn't open the door yet, he just stood out there for a few seconds before getting in. "Come on I don't want to fight over something stupid again." He said as we pulled out of the parking garage and onto the road. "This isn't something stupid. I can't believe she told you." I said as I just looked out the window, not wanting to look at him. "Well it took a lot of convincing, if it makes you feel any better."Dillon said, I could tell he was starting to get frustrated himself. "No it doesn't." I snapped back. "Are you hungry? Do you want to stop off at Kelly's and get something to eat?" He said trying to change the subject. "Whatever." I said as he turned down the road to Kelly's, then pulled into the parking lot. He got out and came over and helped me down. I smoothed out my outfit without looking at him and walked about three feet in front of him. I didn't even wait for him to open the door to Kelly's, which he normally did, I just swung the door open and walked up to the counter where Maxie was standing on the other side. "Hey you guys." She said as she walked around the counter and sat us at one of the tables. "Do you know what you want?" She asked as she took a pen from behind her ear and the tablet from out of her apron. We gave her our orders and she went to the back and placed them and then came back out to help some more people. After she brought our food to us and once the place was almost empty and the last table had just been served she came over and sat down with us. "Sorry it took so long, we've been busy. So how did the appointment go." "Ohh it went great until HE had to ask the doctor what sex of the baby is." I said as I pointed at Dillon and then crossed my arms over my chest. Dillon just rolled his eyes at me as he took a bite of his cheesburger. "You know!!" Maxie asked excitedly. Dillon looked at me and then back at Maxie "Yep, but miss priss here is freaking out on me." "Excuse me, don't start that with me again. You shouldn't have asked and you know it." I said "Georgie, it is done and over with, I know, so get over it." He said as he got up and walked behind the counter to get a refill. We were here so much we would get our own orders sometimes if it was too busy. "Lighten up, Georgie." Maxie said as she looked at me wide-eyed. "So you think it was ok for him to ask too?" I asked. "I just think that if he wants to know, he should. I'm sure he won't tell you." She said as Dillon sat back down at the table and gave me an 'I told you so' look. "Fine I want to know." I said as I sat up in my chair and leaned forward. "No you don't. You just want to prove a point." Dillon said as he leaned back in his chair. "I'm serious I want to know, tell me." I said. "Are you sure?" Maxie asked as she looked back and forth between Dillon and I. I knew that she was dying to know, and knowing that Dillon knew made me want to know now more than anything. "Yes. Tell me!" I said raising my voice. "It's a girl!" He said smiling from ear to ear. Maxie jumped up and yelled 'YES!!' making everyone left in Kelly's turn around and look at us. "We're having a girl?" I asked as all the anger in me disappeared. Tears started falling down my cheeks. "Yes, we're having a girl." Dillon said as he came over to me and pulled me into the sweetest kiss I had ever experienced. We were having a girl!! |
