Thank you for requesting assistance from the Georgia Public Safety Educator�s Association in the form of a safety blitz to be held in your county.
To familiarize yourself with our blitz program, you may read the Public Fire and Life Safety Blitz History.
If your agency is interested in hosting a blitz, you must present your request at an educator meeting normally held the 3rd Thursday of every even month with the exception of December. Our December meeting is the 2nd Thursday of the month. Meetings are held at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia.
Contact the Secretary/Treasurer of the association, Matt Stanley so that your agency may be added to the agenda of the meeting you wish to attend.
Your presentation should include the following:
1. Schools: Name, address, phone # and contact name.
2. Students: Total number of students, per school, per grade.
3. Prevention programs presently being used in your jurisdiction.
4. Local statistics, fire deaths, fire injury, preventable injuries, etc.
5. A letter of commitment from your chief or director stating the request.
If a decision is made to visit your jurisdiction, you will be requested to sign a contract of commitment that prevention programs will be continued or implemented in your jurisdiction once the safety blitz has been completed.
