BYLAW III - ADVISORY MEMBERS

The Executive Board may designate representatives of The Georgia State Firefighter's Association, The Safety Fire Division of the Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner's Office, The Georgia Fire Academy, The Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs, Georgia Standards and Training, The Georgia Forestry Commission, The Georgia Department of Education, The Georgia Emergency Management Association, and or other State agency�s with fire protection or public education duties or responsibilities to act as
non-voting advisory members on the Executive Board and/or to serve on a committee or committees as designated by the Board.

BYLAW IV - OFFICERS

A. The GPSEA Officers:

Shall be a President, Vice-President, Secretary/Treasurer,  elected by the general membership.  Term of office for the President, the Vice-President, the Secretary/Treasurer is for two years, no individual may hold the same office for more than three consecutive terms. The officers shall be elected by majority vote of the members at the August meeting in even-numbered years and shall assume office at the October meeting of the same even numbered year.

B. Duties of the President:

1. Shall be the presiding officer over meetings of the Association and the Executive Board.
2. Shall be the Chief Operating Officer.
3. Shall advise the Secretary/Treasurer of the agenda for each meeting based on the recommendations of the Meeting and Conference Committee and the Project Coordinator. 
4. Shall stimulate free discussion of all matters on the agenda for each meeting.
5. Shall maintain order and when deemed appropriate, may invoke Robert�s Rules of Order to control the orderly conduct of meetings. 
6. Shall sign all GPSEA correspondence or reports.
