The Stone Horse Wooden Horse
Our Stone Horse cutter was designed by Samuel Crocker in the thirties.  The design was for the Stone Horse Yacht Club on Cape Cod.  At the time the club was looking for a capable club racer and single-handed cruising boat.

In the sixties, Edey and Duff of Marion, MA began building them in fiberglass and has turned out close to 200 hulls.  Then, finally, in 1980, a fabulous Stone Horse was created once again in wood.  She was built at the Landing School in Kennebunkport, Maine by master builder John Burgess as a class project for his boatbuilding students.  She was christened Inukshuk by her new owner Helen Tupper.  After a couple years she went to Victor Troll and Nell Wright in Massachusetts.  They christened her Phoebe and sailed her until 1991.  That summer she was bought by current owners, Perry Munson and Marilynn Fairfax, and trailered to Grosse Pointe, MI.  There, she was refitted, refurbished and refinished and launched as the Wooden Horse.  Since then she has been sailed extensively on the Great Lakes.

The boat is currently for sale for $20,000 and includes a trailer.  You can get information from us at 313.886.3611 or [email protected]
