Project Estimator - September 2000 - Present

Project estimating - I budget and prepare project bid packages for various projects, large ($6.5 million) and small for theme parks, museums, show sets, and casinos.  Thanks to my knowledge and "hands-on" experience with diverse materials and construction methods I can confidently bid competitively.  Regularly putting our company on the client's "Short list". 
I track down and meet with Vendors and artisans to fine-tune sub-contracts and meet the demands of entertainment projects that always push the envelope of creativity. 
Technical Writing - I designed, researched, wrote, and published Maintenance & Operations Manuals for a multi-million dollar project ---"Texas Wild" at the Fort Worth Zoo.  Defined and illustrated operation and maintenance of interactive exhibits, show action equipment, and show set pieces. All involved electro-mechanical elements.  I am proficient in Word, Excel, and familiar with PhotoShop, AutoCAD 2000 and many other programs.

Segment Director - Daily shooting schedule directing reality TV re-enactments.  All location work.  Re-writing scripts, approving talent, meeting deadlines and budgets.  I have directed talent as young as six months, kids, teens, seniors and everything in between.  Handled tough locations.  Sometimes NO locations.  Shot through rainstorms and brushfires.  Choreographed gun battles.  Designed, created, and implemented real time fire FX and "Peppers ghosts."  Every day was a new everything; story, cast, location, etc.  Challenges to overcome.  My job was quite simply to bring it all together and deliver footage to blend with on-camera interviews and tell a story. 
Producer - Scouting locations, supervising scripts, and solving all the problems that arise during a fast-paced, demanding shooting schedule.

Consultant Imagineer/ Finish Carpenter - December 1999 - June 2000

Finish carpentry using oak, ash, and other hardwoods to fabricate interiors of a 17th Century Spanish Galleon for Disney Seas, Japan.  I turned huge timbers and quarter sawn lumber into finished, intricate scenic pieces like --- deck cannons, captain, officer and crew quarters.  Also worked on California Adventure Theme Park. 
Proficient with all equipment found in a woodworking mill.  Lathes, planer, band saws, table saws, miter saws, radial arm saws.  I work with close tolerances and deliver accurate interchangeable parts.

Lead a NEW crew building high-end trade show booths for HITACHI, LEASE PROPHET SOFTWARE, and SEBASTIAN HAIR CARE PRODUCTS.  Interpret & check blueprints for errors & define methods for building odd-shaped, curved, angled, laminated walls, FINE cabinetry, with ornate finish moldings. 
I worked "hands-on" building proto-type examples or first article production for crewmen to copy.  Experienced in milling, cutting, shaping hardwoods, plexi-glass, aluminum, steel, etc.  I have done laminating in expensive veneers and metal laminates. 
I am journey level with all shop tools, CNC router table, power saws, miter saw (I've done compound miters on wood, aluminum and steel.) you name it.
