This is a piece numbered 555. I got it on ebay for $26.00.  It's a beautiful example of the prairie green glaze.  It was probably made around 1942 - 1954 because of the Ada clay.
Factoid: All the pieces that are made of ADA CLAY were made before 1954, when the Frankoma company stopped using the clay and replaced it with the Sapulpa Red clay.  I have some Sapulpa Clay pieces, however I really only collect ADA pieces now.
Marked 558, this is a mini snail pitcher made of ADA clay.  It was probably made between 1942 - 1953.  It's a tiny little piece. I also have a set of salt and pepper shakers that are the same design, also of ada clay made betweem 1942 and 1949. I bought all three pieces on EBAY.
Below are a series of Pillow Vases made by Frankoma.  They are all ADA Clay, three are Prairie Green and one is Desert Gold.  I love the pieces all together.  They are numbered 62, 63 and 68.  I'm still looking for a nice Prairie Green 67, which looks like the 63 on it's side.  Number 62 was made between 1942 and 1951, number 63 is made between 1942 and 1953 and number 68 was made between 1942 and 1953.  The desert gold piece below was made the same time as the Prairie Green.  I paid anywhere from $22.00- $26.00 for each piece.
Is this Frankoma?  I thought the BUTTERFLY OR MOTH  was when I bought it, but have found no reference or book that will tell me that it is Frankoma.  I'm still very curious. It is made of a buff tan color clay and a very similar prairie green clay.  If you know who made it, I would be very greatful for the information.
