Effective at chairing and/or facilitating group discussion regarding plans and scopes

Wash grade erosion treatment investigation.  Obtained a northern Arizona Native American reservation and nearby village community feedback on the proposed Wash Natural Resource Plan (NRP) Revised Work Plan Schedule, reviewed their expectations on the final product, presented latest hydrologic analysis results, and discussed engineering considerations.  Facilitated discussion on current planning status and latest concerns.  Collaborated with the local District Conservationist (DC) to arrange meeting time, meeting location, and for opening and closing statements.

Flood retarding treatment investigation.  Presented a viable engineering alternative of rehabilitating an existing flood retarding structure to flood control district and state water resources department officials.  This alternative was part of a watershed and environmental assessment.

Excel at functioning as an information broker by gathering data from a variety of sources, including the Internet

Wash grade erosion treatment investigation.  Engineering alternatives were presented in a document entitled Formulating Alternatives—Engineering.  It featured established objectives and goals that were categorized by resource and benefit land areas, applicable federal technical and/or financial assistance programs, and engineering treatments.

Developed the Revised Work Plan Schedule that included justification statements and a Gantt chart complete with tasks, completed task duration, projected uncompleted tasks duration, and projected completion dates.

Flood retarding treatment investigation.  Estimated $1.4 million dollars optimized cost after developing a ninety-six page Mathcad computer file and consulting with a Hydraulic Engineer.  The file featured watershed project sponsor objectives, applicable federal technical and/or financial assistance programs, and engineering analyses.

Internet tools.  Accessed the Internet using Microsoft (MS) Internet Explorer and communicated by electronic mail and facsimile using MS Outlook Express in the MS Windows computer environment.  Use search and megasearch engines.  Familiar with McAfee VirusScan, Privacy Corporation BOClean, and PGP electronic mail encryption and authentication software.

Competent at deriving computer software applications from other people’s ideas or technical resources

Workbook or spreadsheet file developments using codes, macros, and interactive features.  Developed one hydraulic engineering and five geotechnical engineering files to assist in the design of drop spillway and stilling basins, geotextile filters around sub-surface drains, embankments, and sand and gravel filters.

File developments.  Developed documents using MS Word · tables and graphs using MS Excel and Lotus 1-2-3 · presentations using MS PowerPoint and SPC Software Publishing Harvard Graphics · mathematical and data analyses using MathSoft Mathcad · and schedule and resource analyses using Primavera SureTrak Project Manager and MS Project Manager.

Messages received.  Resource planning process and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service Environmental Compliance Workshop training (1995).  Formal education. Five geotechnical engineering related college courses for a cumulative 4.0 GPA.  Three hydraulic engineering related college courses for a cumulative 3.3 GPA.  Certifications.  Engineer-In-Training (EIT), State of Colorado · Microsoft Office Excel 2000 Specialist, administered by Robert Half International, Inc.
