Born
at KNUST, Kumasi to Dr Kwaku Sefa Wiredu and Ms Comfort Appiah Twum, I
attended KNUST Nursery and Primary Schools before gaining entry in 1987
into Prempeh College where I wrote the GCE O'Level exams in 1992. I then
proceeded to T. I. Amass also in Kumasi in the same year for my Sixth Form
education and wrote the A'Level exams in 1994.
My National Service assignment took me to the Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District
where I taught in a primary school for one year. University teachers' industrial
action in 1995 resulted in delayed entry into the university. During the
period of waiting, I worked as a receptionist at Noks Hotel in Asokwa, Kumasi.
In 1996, I began a Bachelor's degree programme in Planning at Kwame Nkrumah
University of Science and Technology, and completed with a Second Class
(Upper Division) Honours in July 2000. During my degree, I was involved
in the preparation of Development Plans for Fanteakwa and East Akim Districts
all in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
In February 2001, I began to study Management Accounting at AT Emile Woolf
College in London, and in October the same year, I gained admission into
The London School of Economics (LSE) to read Analysis, Design and Management
of Information Systems leading to an MSc qualificaton. I completed the
programme in September 2002 and was admitted, in October 2002, into the MPhil/PhD programme in Information Systems. I completed my PhD in January 2005 and afterwards worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at University of Limerick in Ireland from March 2005 to April 2007.
I returned home to take a lectureship position at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) from August 2007, and still there as a Faculty member of the School of Technology.
