| Lenore Lillian Watts was born on April 9, 1908 at Sorrento. She attended the local school and went to church at St John's Anglican Church in Sorrento. She worked at "Stringer's Store" in the haberdashery and manchester department, selling linens and napery to the holidaymakers. She met and married Rupert Stanley Tindal in 1928 They met whilst he was holidaying at his brother's house in Sorrento. |

| Rupert was born on March 2, 1903, one of 7 brothers, in Anderson's Creek near Donscaster. As a young man, he drove teams of horses carting hay and wood. He enlisted in WWII and served with the 149 General Transport Division, driving supply trucks and helping to evacuate Darwin after it was bombed by the Japanese. For most of his married life. he worked for the shire council as an assistant overseer, building many roads throughout the Camberwell area. Lenore and Rupert lived in Surrey Hills in Melbourne. They had 2 children, Cecile Lorraine born 1929 and Stanley Clement born 1931. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Lenore was an active participant in the local choir and was very supportive of her daughter Cecile's professional singing career. Lenore and Rupert both had a very strong sense of family, and both kept in close contact with their siblings. Christmas was always special at their house |

| It is to my grandmother that I attribute my interest in genealogy, and my cooking ability. As a small child we were forever making biscuits for poppy. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Lenore was devoted to her grandchildren, Cameron, Nicholas and Joshua. She even managed to "hang on" even when she was very ill to greet my youngest son. He was born June 17th, 2002. Lenore passed away July 2002. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
