"The Role of the Cavalry during the American War for Independence
Sheldon's Horse, 2nd Light Dragoons"


Foot soldiers were not the only ones who were instrumental in the ultimate American victory at Yorktown, VA. 

Meet
Sal Tarrantino, commander of the oldest, continously commissioned Connecticut Cavalry unit (since 1777).  Mr. Tarrantino, of Colchester, CT has been studying and portraying in the field of living history since 1975. 

Explore the role of mounted horse units, how they were used to turn battles, as advance parties and as security for traveling notables.

Captain Tarrantino and members of Sheldon's Horse will be guests at a reception in the Wadsworth Stable (circa 1820) from  1:00- 3:00 p.m.
