CHARACTERS

Characters start with minimum equipment.    To earn money for equipment, characters can find jobs in town, hunt, trap, search for treasure, or use other imaginative wage earning methods.

NPC shops are always on the lookout for hired help.  Caravans guards are needed for both goods and travellers.

BEGINNING EQUIPMENT - A character starts with:

Clothes, including cloak, hat, and boots.
Cloth or leather armor.
Weapon of choice, and a dagger.
Trail Rations & Water for a week.
Trail pack with rope, spikes, grapnel, and flint.
Two hundred silver pieces.

All other items and possessions should be gained through roleplay.

Characters start with only fledgling knowledge.   Talents and magic ability is increased through training and study.  Guilds exist for fighters and thieves.  Monastarys exist for priests and priestesses.  Adept wizards and acadamies exist for the study of magical arts.

All increases in talents and magical spells should be gained through roleplay.

BEGINNING TALENTS & SPELLS - A charater starts with:

Six talents or spells.  The choice is up to the player.  Players may choose all talents, spells, or a combination of both.

Characters may try to use talents they don't possess, and knowledge of a talent does not mean automatic success.

Characters may not try to use spell levels they don't possess, and success of known spells is not automatic.

Characters start knowing their native race language.  If learning another language is desired, it counts as a talent if chosen at character creation, or can be studied during roleplay.

EXAMPLE OF A CHARACTER FOR HONOR TALES
:

Your Real Name
Email Address
Jast Oblinad, Dwarf -  Ranger
Leather Armor, Hammer, Dagger

Ax-Mace Weapon Talent
Tracking Talent
Woodsman Talent
Horsemanship Talent
Drop Weapon Spell
Light Spell

A short history could be written about his past and future hopes.  This narrative could also be placed  in your character's bio on the game board, after you've registered.

Jast would be great with a hammer or a mace, but limited with a bow.  He could still fire a bow, but would be less likely to hit a target.
Jast can cast spells, but would have to take his weapons out of his hands to do so.
Even though Jast does not have a horse at start-up, when he gets one, he can handle it well
