History of the World of Honor
Joren Sindrox and his family traveled by tall ship. They were seeking to settle in a warmer climate. The trip was uneventful, until the vortex. The ship was pulled into the swirling water. The captain tried in vain to pull free and the boat was pulled asunder.
Before the vortex claimed the ship, Joren called on an arcane spell, passed down to him through generations. He knew not its origin, but he was told the incantation would transport him irrevocably from his present location. Joren held his wife, Anne, close to his bosom. She clung tightly, and Joren recited the words to the spell.
As water cascaded over the side of the ship, Joren and Anne were transported to a beach. They were still intertwined when the spell was finished. Joren proceeded inland and soon built a residence for the two. He encountered no other beings, though the land was fertile, with plenty of game. Anne bore him seven sons, and three daughters. On the birthday of his seventh son, the elves appeared. They had arrived from the west, and were amazed to find the humans living on the east coast.
A friendship was forged, and marriage was soon arranged between the elves and humans. The species flourished. Other races were encountered as the lands were explored. Soon, orcs, dwarves, and goblins, were numerable. The humans multiplied at a fast rate, and though half-elves, they began to marry among themselves and many of the elven features were lost.
The pure elves retreated to the forest, and Joren Sindroxs heirs soon ruled the World of Honor. Establishing a capital, and building a castle, Monarch Laris, declared himself ruler of all the world. Since his title was more honorary than absolute, the other races abided by his edicts.
Many cities and societies sprung up in the world. In the deep south, the Reptile Men were discovered. At first feared, the humans were soon able to understand their language, and an uneasy peace was established.
Scuffles between the elves, dwarves, and orcs, often erupted, but it was the humans that always quelled the uprisings. Soon the monarchy was firmly entrenched, and it served the good of all the races.
Time was measured by calculating the months since Joren Sindroxs arrival. Each twelve months was called an era. The present reign of Monarch Sebastian had begun in the era of 199 A.A. (after arrival) and continued to the present.
The present finds the World of Honor with peace among all the races. Life flourishes. Cities are orderly, and commerce abounds. Though highwaymen and brigands are sometimes in abundance, only the issue of slavery is a constant thorn in the tranquility of the nation.
