Ink, colored pencil, and acrylic on paper.  17 October 1991.  22 x 30."  This is a part of a series of works undertaken in the 1980s which set off central organic-looking elements with a structured framework.  This picture's framework consists of tiles whose figurative elements interlock.  The apparent embryos of the center appear soft and translucent and they are contrasted by the harsh black and white and color ribbons beneath them.  The tiles are depicted with opaque mediums to further contrast the elements in the center - made up of transparent mediums.
