Acrylic on paper.  10 March 1988.  17 x 23."  Part of an extended series of works (approximately 20 in all) that use acrylic paint as if it were watercolor.  Here the paint is washed over previously painted areas layering the color again and again and again, but each time covering less of the color shape.  The result is a sort of lamination of color that appears to make the form bend in space.  Each color element is isolated from its peers, but often the color change interval continues from shape to shape.  Black and white areas in various pattern schemes provide contrast to the rich, saturated color areas.
