Pencil and acrylic on gesso on paper on panel. 13 April 1971. 14 1/2 x 20 3/8." Private Collection, Oregon. Glazes of acrylic paint are layered over an underdrawing of pencil on gesso in this work. The artist has remarked that drawing with pencil on a gesso-coated surface is reminiscent to him of working on a lithographic stone.
