Oil on canvas. 24 x 26" Paint added in 1999. This work was created in graduate school at the University of Oregon. The artist was studying the use of line and color in the work of the French artist Fernand Leger. He found that Leger often let line and color exist independently, but interacted in interesting ways. Fascinated, he incorporated this approach in the present picture. Notice where the color appears to leave the forms and where the forms leave the color.
