When The Music Ends

She says I'm old enough to be her father
That makes me look at where I'm at today
I've got to sort out all the things that bother
From the things I'd never give away

Tonight the music in my head keeps playing
As the stars are filling up the sky
I want to tell her things I shouldn't be saying
But I don't know if I could keep my eyes dry

(cho)
Have I missed it all
Or has it all missed m e
Is there something there
Deeper than fantasy
Because the way I feel tonight
Makes me wonder if the path I'm on is right
So when the music ends
And the stars are allgone
Will we just be friends
I wonder

As the hands of time tick out a steady pace
I'll tell her secrets but not one lie
I close my eyes and I can still see her pretty face
And it will be there the day I die

(cho)
