Books Read

OK it is that time again for me to post a few more of the novels I have completed. I have 5 this time since it has been a couple weeks since I posted books I have finished. Yes I know I read a lot. I dont sleep alot so it all evens out.

OK like in past posted on books I will only give a little blip about the book. Since I dont like it when someone tells me too much about a book before I read it I wanted to not do that to anyone out there that may think of reading any of the books I post about. IF it is listed here I did like it and if I love it will say so on the entry for that book.

1) The Wishing Chalice by Sandra Landry. First time reading anything by this author and I really enjoyed it. Was a Time travel book where the heroine is transported back to England in the year 1315. As the title suggests it was from a 'wish' that was made while holding a special chalice. The twist to this one is when she is transported back in time it is not in her own body as is the case in most of the time travels I read but she is thrown into another womans body and into the thick of her life. She wakes finding not only is she not all all 'herself' but has a hubby to boot. If you like the time travel romances you will really like this one.

2) The Hunger by Susan Squires. I have read several of this authors books and all are loosely tied together. She has a series of vampire novels in a historical setting. In hers the vampires all have a 'companion' that lives within them that makes them a vampire. There are good vamps and bad vamps. This one is no different. Those that are good live by a set of rules to help them blend in with Humankind and of course the bad ones have no concern for humans other than as a food source. I have liked all of her novels I have read and this one did not disappoint.

3)Kitty Goes to Washington by Carrie Vaughn. This is a second in a series about Kitty the Werewolf...yes the joke is brought up here and there about her name. She has a night time radio show about the paranormal and in this continuance from the first novel she as the title states goes to Washington. It is to testify in hearings regarding the acceptance or not of beings like herself that are a bit outside of the Human norm. This book does not fall into the Romance category like most I read but I really like her writing style. So if looking for her book usually is in the reg fiction section to sometimes the sci-fi/fantasy section.

4: The Sword (novel of the Sons of Destiny) by Jean Johnson. This again is a new author for me. This is a series about 8 brothers with this one being the first of the group. These brothers are the Sons of Destiny, exiled to a lone island for meeting the requirements of being 4 sets of twin boys. Since the prophesy is more Gloom and Doom than anything they were made to live by themselves. The prophesy has a section that is devoted to each. This first book is about the Oldest of the brothers and his meeting his mate. She happens to be pulled into their realm by the youngest of the brothers who rescues her from the Earth Realm just as her house was on fire. Full of banter and wit and I have already gotten book number 2 which is about the second oldest brother and his story of meeting his mate.

5)Master of the Highlands by Veronica Wolff. Another first time read for this author too. Loved it. Is a time travel where the heroine gets herself into a labyrinth and somehow gets tossed back to Scotland in the year 1654. She quickly realizes she has landed in the Real version of a song her grandma had song her in her childhood and of course cant help but fall for the Laird of the castle. This story has some Loose factual info in that this laird really did exist and the battles going on really happened and all. Lots of liberties were taken but again I really enjoyed this book and will be reading the next one she will have out in June which will have Laird Ewen in it again but as a much younger lad.

OK that was 5 more... Anyone else out there reading? If so what? IF not ....well WHY?
