My Little Lincoln Hog
photo

Those that know me, know my pig is my baby. ( at least one of my babies ) He is a mini pot belly pig. Figured would post his dirty piggy pic here.

He has a pen outback and loves to roll in the mud and then his pool and get it nice and mud filled for me to clean out several times a week. Not sure if he Likes mud in his pool or he just does it to get a pool full of fresh water every other day.

Every morning when I go out to feed him, he comes running off his ledge and grunts. Has become a game of sorts. I actually grunt back (full Tim Allen style) and he wags his tail and grunts back again. Not at all sure what it means other than his tail wags so hard it goes around in a full circle, so must at least be something he likes. Yup I am certifiable at least with when it comes to some things.

His buddy is a wild Peacock, I finally named O'Henry when it appeared he was here to stay. Henry will get in the pen with him and 'share' his meals. Lincoln does not seem to mind it. So far I have not been able to get a photo of the two of them dining together.

So there ya have it. A city gal that owns a pig that she grunts to daily. My piggy is one of my small joys in life, so laugh if you wish but I would not trade him for the world.

I tried to get Lincoln to leash train when we first got him but he did not like it at all. I gave up and stopped worrying over it when I realized he followed me or my little dogs everywhere anyways. Even now that he is living outside in his pen, when I let him out he will just follow me to feed the chickens and ducks or chase the dogs.
I think he figured he was a dog at first too. He would try and sleep on my toy poodle, Payton, and that worked fine until he got bigger than my poor old dog. He also had to sit next to me on the couch nightly to watch TV just like the dogs do. Unfortunately he needed to live outside...but does not seem to mind it over much.
The one photo under my avitar is of Lincoln and Payton sleeping together under one of my chairs. Was not taken long before he went to live in his pen outback.
