ok I have 4 more to post about. Am now starting to catch up to my goal reading at a better pace at least. As per my norm, I will not got much away on the books because I know for me I dont like to have stories spoiled before I have a chance to read them so I decided to not spoil stories for anyone else out there that might pick some of these books up too.
1) Lord of the Fading Lands by CL Wilson. This one was interesting. Was the first one I have read by this author. Is a fairy laden novel. In this one the main fae is the King of the fading lands and is a shape shifter too. He can transform into a Tarin which is a large flying cat that can breath fire like a dragon. His lady love is an adopted orphan that does not know about her true heritage until her and the fae king cross pathes. This one is a first part of an at least 2 novel story. The end leave you hanging so as to get you right on the next book. I do have the next novel and will be starting it soon to see how Rain and Ellysettas story continues.
2) Twist by Colby Hodge. This one is a Vamp book but has a few Twists as the title implies. It takes the heroine on a trip through time to discover her true role in the world. She is a sort of Buffy The Vamp Slayer type. There are even some cute referrences to it in the book. The vamps are different in that they seem to be a cross of typical read about ones and the odd sci fi ones of Stargate Atlantis. Those that read it will know that these Vamps Never bleach their hair and that "Ninjas are way cooler than Pirates". Was another author had never read before but would certainly pick up another of theirs in the future to read.
3) Deep Magic by Joy Nash. This one is a King Arthur type novel. Complete with Avalon hidden in the mystical mists and even the making of excalibur with in the story. This would predate the Arthur story but is very good as a precursor. Was the first I have read by this author but could see from reading that this is not the first in the series with many referrences to instances that must have happened in prior stories. The heroine in this one is a shape shifter and a druidess on a quest to save Avalon. Is a good read and if you loved the Mart Stewart Novels about this same time frame and subject matter then you will love it too.
4) Marked by Moonlight by Sharie Kohler. This is a Werewolf novel...or Lycan as they are called here. The heroine is infected and has to rely on the hero...who happens to be a Lycan Hunter, to help save her from a life as a monster. Takes a while to convince her that she has been changed and will turn at the full moon but she does start to grasp that her new persona is not just a fluke. They set out to find the ones responsible and destroy them before it is too late to save her from herself. Another good read and from another new author for me. This one is a first in what looks to be the start of a Lycan Hunter series. I plan to check out the next book that is mentioned at the back of the book.
Ok that is the ones recently read for me. Are you reading anything? IF so What? I love to hear about new authors to try out.
Happy Reading
