BOOKS READ June 8th Another month had flown by and in that time have read many more books to share. As per the norm I wont give too much away since I dont like to have stories spoiled for me before I have a chance to read them so I try to not do that for anyone that might pick up any books I list. If I list them here I DID enjoy them. With the large number of books I read in a year...despite the many books I do list on here... it is Never all I read. I try to finish a book even if not too into it..very rarely will I just not finish one ( I know I know..even mom told me that the Book Police will Not come and take me away for not completing a book if it was not to my liking..)
Ok here we go.
1) Bewitched by Sandra Schwab. In this one the heroine has been sent to live with relatives after a mishap using magic. She is enspelled to not be able to use magic from then on. Other spells and oddities land her in the arms of a man she could not stand upon furst meeting. All cause she somehow mistakenly turned the family home cobalt blue instead of just her bedroom. Very cute book.
2)His Dark Desires but Jennifer St Giles. This one is set in victorian New Orleans. It is hard to tell if there are ghosts of just odd things happening in the quasi mystery romance. Very odd things keep happening and there are many nearly fatal instances as well. A new stranger among them seems the perfect choice as the cause or is he? This one kept my attention and I really enjoyed it.
3)The Wolf (sons of destiny) by Jean Johnson. This is part 2 of her Sons of Destiny series. In this one the second eldest son out of 4 sets of twins has his turn for his destiny and fate of love to unfold. Each brother is part of a prophesy. This one is set in another realm and has lots of funny moments. As suggested this brother can shapeshift into a wolf. Each brother has a different gift/talent. I have already picked up book 3 in this series to find out what happened to the next brother in line.
4)Wake Up Im Fat by Camryn Manheim. This is actress Camryn Manheims autobiography. I really liked this book. She is intelligent, funny, brassy and had many years of conflict over having a great love for performing but not being the 'typical' size/look to work in the industry.
5)The Red Heart of Jade by Marjorie M Liu. This is another in her Dirk And Steele series. Her series revolves around an agency that solves paranormal cases. All those employed at the agency have exectional talents. In this one Dean who can read engeries people give off is working on a case of murders when he finds a long thought dead love. They are in for a wild ride that involves ancient artifacts found embedded in mummies chests as well as dragons. Very good book as usual of hers.
6) Abigails Story by Ann Burton. This is the fictionalized story of Abigail from the bible. This is part of a women of the bible series in which Ann Burton gives women mentioned in the bible actual substance and form. While much of the life created is fictionalized the stories she writes of these ladies pulls you in and seems very realistic for the time period they are set.
OK that was 6 more. SO far have read 36 books for the year. What are You READING?????
