BOOKS READ May 8th

OK finished some more books and am back to share some of them with you. As per the norm I wont give too much away since I dont like to have stories spoiled for me before I have a chance to read them so I try to not do that for anyone that might pick up any books I list. If I list them here I DID enjoy them. With the large number of books I read in a year...despite the many books I do list on here... it is Never all I read. I try to finish a book even if not too into it..very rarely will I just not finish one ( I know I know..even mom told me that the Book Police will Not come and take me away for not completing a book if it was not to my liking..)

Ok here we go.

1)First one is a group of mini novellas.. IT was one that came out around Christmas time so yes there are Winter themes but I enjoyed it and only now was reading it so here it is. Book is called Holidays Are Hell. In it are 4 shorts.

The first is called Two Ghosts for Rachel by Kim Harrison. I had not read anything by her before but I know she has an entire series...may check it out after this. In it the main character Rachel does a spell to try and raise her fathers ghosts to ask him an important question regarding her future but it does not go quite as planned. The ghost she gets instead helps her and her brother to solve a murder/kidnapping problem.

The second is called Run, Run, Rudolph by Lynsay Sands. I have read many of hers and always love the HUMOR factor of her books wether is a historical romance, Vamp book or even here where the girl is a shapeshifter after being hit with an experimental beam... the title alone should give ya a hint at what she can turn into....giggle.

The third is called Six by Marjorie M Liu. I have read many of hers too. She has a series that revolve around different paranormal themed stories and are tied together in that they are stemmed from a supernatural detective agency. In this one is it along similar lines in that the heroine is a gov operative. She is teamed up with a necromancer to fight a terrorist /vamp group.

The last one is called The Harvest by Vivki Patterson. I have not read any by this author and of the 4 was the one I liked the least only cause it appeared to have a background story I was somehow missing. I know she has written other books so could be that to really follow one had to of read some of them prior to reading this one. Was good just had a feeling I was missing something. The characters are the Zodiac Warriors and all have a zodiac sign they fall under. The heroine is out to save her children and grandchild....but has lost her powers in her attempt to protect them.

2)The Lunatic Cafe by Laurell K Hamilton. This is book #4 in the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series. I love her books. The heroine is Anita Blake and she is a pint sized zombie raiser/vamp hunter. She has odd/ twisted relationships with some of the non-human characters. In this one it is a competition between the Vamp master of the City and an Alpha Werewolf. Both adore her and want to win her over. But in the forefront is the work she does...in this one she is trying to help find a group of missing shapeshifters that has gone missing and to also try and solve a murder. There are twists and turns....with vamps, werewolves, witches, wererats, and even shapeshifters that can turn to swans, leopards, snakes and such tossed into the story this time. Despite her tough exterior I love her character in that she still goes home at night and snuggles up with her stuffed penquin to go to sleep. :)

3) Undead and Uneasy by Mary Janice Davidson. This is the 6th in her Undead series. I have not read all so am back and forth in this series. These are quick reads full of funny one liners. Besty is Queen of the Vamps and in this one getting married to the King of the vamps. She is giggle one of the most different Vamp characters I have read. She has a half sis that is the daughter of the devil but an avid church goer to upset her family, has a ghost that follows her around and has a huge shoe fetish and gets upset with things like people not dressing to her liking...giggle. Here she has to figure out where all her friends and family seem to be disappearing too. She is a little dense so the obvious does not hit her too fast.

OK that is 3 more novels. (am half way through 2 more already so will have more to post soon).
