American History X- This movie came out in '98 and I had never seen it till recently. Its really well done, its about this skinhead who goes to jail for shooting two black people trying to steal his car radio, while in jail he realizes white supreamcy is a load of bullshit, he gets out of jail 3 years later, but his younger brother is already knee deep in the nazi culture, so it up to him to pull him out of it. Edward Norton (Fight Club) stars in the film, he does an awesome job too, in Fight Club he came across as kind of pussy and wuss, but in American History X he comes across as being badass as hell. The order of which you figure out the plot is cool too, they do the flashbacks in black and white the main plot in color, its a cool contrast, lots of symbolic shit all spread though out it as well, definately worth the rental.
Pulp Fiction- One of my all time favorites, this movie has Samuel L Jackson, John Travolta, and Burce Willis, not to mention its a Quentin Taratino film. First time I saw it I was just amazed by it, great directing in this film. Between the 3 of those guys its got plenty of badassablity to it, which is one of the keys to a good movie. Its about these two hit men (Jackson and Travolta) and all these little side plot things woven into it. Pulp Fiction also has its funny parts as well as some really shocking stuff, like John Travolta driving a needle into Uma Thurman's chest to revive her from a coke over does while shes pukeing up milk shake from a trendy 50's bar on the front lawn of a drug dealers house. What more could you ask for?
Unbreakable- For a movie with Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson I exspected better. Its basically this guy (played by Willis) who realizes, with the help of this excentric freak (played by the one and only Samuel L) that he has "super powers". These powers cause alot of stress on his family life, he doesnt want to belive it, blah blah blah. It was a dumb plot, but it had some funny parts, like when Samuel L falls down the stairs and breaks all his bones, or when the kid picks up a gun to shoot his father. Overall, its not worth spending the time or money on, the kind of movie you walk away from thinking about how stupid it was.

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure- This was border line sucky, but I gave it an alright rateing. Its one of those movies I saw as a kid and remembered as being awesome, but when going back and watching it realized that it wasnt all that great. It had some corny parts, but it has some pretty funny stuff mixed in as well. Bill and Ted (Teds played by Kueanu Revees) go back in time with the help of some hip 80s guy (played by George Carlin) to abduct famous historical figures for their history report. Predictable plot, kind of cheesy like I said, but its a classic 80s movie that everyone should see at some point. NOTE: Dont bother renting Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.
American Bueaty- This was a strange movie featureing Kevin Spacy about a disfunctional family. It got really good reviews, was 4 stars and everything, I didnt think it was that great. It was alright though, it had its funny and serious parts. It focuses on this one family thats falling apart, the mother is having an affair, the daughter is dateing a psycho next door, and the father is smokeing dope while fantazeing about fucking his daughters best freind. Check out sometime if your looking for a different type of movie.
Clerks- A freind of mine suggested this movie to me and its really kick ass. Directed by Kevin Smith (Mallrats, Dogma, Chaseing Amy), its a film about this guy who is a clerk at a convince store. He has a freind across the street who works at a video store, its basically about this shit day they have and all this funny crap that happens in between. The whole thing is done in black and white with crappy video quality, but thats what makes it so awesome, it doesnt need special effects and shit, its just got a really good script that speaks for itself. Also has Jay and Silent Bob in it if you know who they are.
Deep Blue Sea- All time worst movie ever made. The only reason you might want to see it is just because its the worst movie ever made.
