| At Night is the guise under which the quixotic Mr. Aaron Schmidt performs his songs to sing out to the night...at night...although he did do it that one time at Sharky's Bar and Grill, sweating in the Arizona sun drinking lighter fluid. I don't know what the lighter fluid was for, I think he mistook it for iced tea. Jimmy Carter and the Dead Pope once told me that Mr. Aaron's voice reminded them inextricably of the love child of Kermit the Frog and Daniel Johnston. His music, while definitely incorporating the two into a sexually heated soul funk groove, is exemplary. Gotohawaii Recordings is extremely honored that Mr. Schmidt has joined their collective and that they can now revel in their mutual admiration of David Lynch. Perhaps they will one day understand Inland Empire...together...in bed... |
