Event of the Week
(or until I get another)
07.24.03 --- I am not sure what we were thinking. Sometimes I think we try too hard. This week started out a little slow, but we ended up doing something I don't suggest. I am glad it turned out the way it did. Enjoy. (sorry for the 2 month delay on this event)
It started with the local bus called "The Max". The plan was to ride the Max to see where it went and what kind of people got on and off the bus. Well, to our dismay (as you can see in the upper left), we were too late. The final route for the day had already passed that stop and we were out of luck. Brian went to get the Samurai and we hid from him (upper right). He found us. Our next plan involved a little cleaning. One of our houses (which will remain nameless but is blatently obvious) had a couple of extra TV's laying around so we thought we would make good use of them. We tied one of them to the back of the Samurai and found a dirt road. You can use your imagination from there. It lasted surprisingly long. We used the other TV at Grand Valley State University. There is a bridge of great height that crosses the "Grand" valley and we let the TV fly free. The idea is not original but it never gets old. I am sorry to say that I did not take good pictures of that event.
This is where it got crazy. Meijer- 5 minutes, 5 dollars, 2 teams. We had a 5 dollar allowance (before taxes) and 5 minutes to pick up the worst possible food we could find --- for the other team. The first round was unclear and we ended up doing it again, but we were not allowed to pick up what we had the first time (which is lucky for Brian, Zack, and Beyer). So Ben and I took off, dismayed we could not use the anchovies in mustard sauce. We picked up some squid pieces (lower right), canned pink salmon, and good-ole black olives. Greg Beyer actually enjoyed the food, while Brian's reaction was slightly different. We lost Zack. You're my boy, blue!
Their team decided to steer away from the fish. they went to the meat area and picked up something extremely disguisting. I forget the formal name of it but it was the lining of a cow's stomach. Needless to say, this delicatessan needed to be cooked. Well, it was getting late so we decided to do it the following night.. Yeah, it never happened because I moved the day after the following night.  That's just too bad....
