| ~LE BALAFRE (With an accent on the E,lol) Le Balafre, situated in Montreal, 300 Ontario East, corner of Sanguinet, is a cute little pub with good music (that's cause i know the saturday-night DJ :P). Erm, i've only been there on saturdays but i've gone a couple of times lately. Don't count on anything big size where you can dance... it's really small, but the paintings on the wall(**) are interesting and the ambiance is comfortable. Sometimes they got "Improvisions"(***) where university people come down and have a game of the best impro's. There's ALOT of people during this time, but the people gradually leave after an hour, two hours, three. The place closes at 3 in the morning (on Saturdays) (**) If your an artist and want to show your cool work to strangers, you can ask the prop. if you can put your work up cause they change once in a while. (***) On Saturdays, the improvisions finish around 10:20 PM. The improvisions cost 3$ to see. (*) If you take the metro, get off at Berri-Uqam, take the exit on Saint-Denis street, then walk up to Ontario street. Take a left at the crossroad and walk to the next corner. ***UPDATED*** The owner has become a dumbass. He told PX (the DJ) that he wasn't needed anymore. The reason being that a dude was hired to play sounds during the improvisions and the owner said it would be dumb to pay two people so he said that the new dude could play the music too. I am no longer found there, and i've heard that there are not many people anymore. Duh, PX was the one brining the customers in! |
