| Hywel ap Cadell has died, and disunity has returned to Gwent, Gwynedd, Powys
and Deheubarth. Tis rumored that a great Viking fleet makes ready to sail
the coasts of Cymru. Sail under the black raven or heed the call of the red dragon at Gothic Wars XIV, Clash for Gwynedd. |

| Directions to Hords Creek: It is ~7 miles west of Coleman, Texas on 153. 153 going out Coleman goes up a large hill at the edge of town. No hill - you are on the wrong road. The entrance to the site is the second one coming from Coleman. From the west - Winters, Texas. There is a large sign on the south of 153 on the road to the main gate. 230 Friendship Park Road Coleman, Texas 76834 (915)625-2322 A few links with maps and info: First a terra view Army Corp. Page Texas Parks and Wildlife ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SITE INFORMATION: Group Areas 6 & 7 - The main Gate is the second turn in to the lake from Coleman. Click for pics of site ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * Water - The water is drinkable but does have a distinctive West Texas flavor. :) * There are trees on site, mostly live oak Portable shade is recommended. * There are 2 pavillions onsite, with flush toliets. There are also other buildings on site with showers and flush toliets. Port-a-potties will not be on site. * The Hot water is first come first serve but with weather in the triple digits most people will want the cold water. There is a lake closeby as well (Hord's Creek Resevoir). The water conditions of the lake are unknown to me at this time, but it looks quite inviting. Those bringing smalls need to be aware that we will be directly on the lake, so keep a close eye on them. The swimming area is by the dam. The area for Gothic is closer to the area than we were in Defender. * There is access to electricity and water faucets on site. Please be courteous of fellow campers and do not try and control access to these facilities. Any reports of this will gain you a visit from the Autocrat. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Weather.com enter 76834 for the zip to check the weather forecast before you head out the door ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LOCAL CONVENIENCES: * The closest store is on 153 back in Coleman. * Small fishing store just down from the park entrance Thank you to HL AmaRyah, Lord Angus and Lord Byron for the help that made putting this page together possible. ~Bridget the Stargazer~ |
