Designing a Character

Characters are not hard to design at all, though some seem to have trouble their first time. To create a full biography, you will need a picture of your character, physical description, brief history, and a list of relatives (if any). Use your imagination, but keep it real!

Alicorn Amarante, Elder Silver Mist

Unfortunately, we do not allow human characters, because our setting is designed to keep them away. Characters besides wolves are allowed, so long as they belong in the setting. An African elephant, for example, would not be allowed. A fox, however, would be fine. Please remember, however, that the wolf is a predator and may kill and eat your character.

Your brief history should include anything that happened to you before you came to your present pack. For example, if you have decided to start out as a lone pup, perhaps your parents were killed by hunters. Then you wandered alone before finding the pack. If you have been a part of other packs, you will want to include that. You may give names to the wolves in your story, even if they are dead or are not actually roleplayed by anyone.

Listing your relatives is very easy. If you are a lone wolf, you may not remember the names of your relatives. However, some do give names to the relatives that their characters do remember. That is for you to decide. Until you are adopted, mate, have children, or claim spiritual siblings, you may not have a family at all. Many people claim so many spiritual siblings or children that it becomes impossible to keep up with their family members!

Your character will also need a personality. It may match your real life personality or be very different from it. That is entirely up to you. Many people like to roleplay more than one character, each with different personalities, strengths, and weaknesses!

The physical description is often the hardest thing to come up with. Some fields are optional, and some are required. An age may or may not be required, depending on your character's history. Some characters may not know their ages, but many do. If you know your character's birthday, include that. Fur color, eye color, and any markings or scars are required. You will need to come up with measurements as well: height, weight, and length. If you need any help, please talk to Alicorn. You can tell her whether you want your wolf to be small, medium, or large, and she can help you with specific measurements. If you know your character's species, that is also a nice addition.

Anyas Amarante, Sentinel Silver Mist

Characters must be purely realistic, having no abnormally colored fur or eyes. Eyes may be blue, green, hazel, gray, gold, or brown. They may have hints of red or black, but entirely red eyes are not permitted. Fur may be any hue of black, white, or brown, and may be different colors on different parts of the body. No male wolf will be over 5'6" long (most are between 4' and 5'5"), nor will any female be over 5' long (most are less than 4'5"). No wolf will stand over 3' tall. No male wolf shall weigh over 170 lbs (most weigh between 75 and 125), nor will any female wolf weigh over 100 lbs (most weigh between 55 and 90).

If you would like a pre-designed character, we greatly encourage people to adopt a character. The wolves listed here are sons and daughters of our current and former members that do not have roleplayers. Anyone who adopts one of these characters may skip assessment and be automatically welcomed into the Silver Mists pack. If you are new to our pack, you may wish to design your own character AND adopt a character. We allow people to roleplay two characters who are actually members of the pack and as many non-packmates as they wish.

Now all you have to do is search the internet for a picture that accurately depicts your character, and give your character a name! Good luck! Please ask for assistance if you need any at all.
