Scar`Mai Howling Moon has is an average year-old Timberwolf with blue eyes and black fur. His left hind foot and the tip of his right ear are white, as is the bottom half of his muzzle.

As a pup, Scar Mai had many of the important members in his pack murdered by human hunters who searched for wolf pelts. When most of their adult wolves were gone, the alphas feared for the safety of their pups and took them to the Silver Mists, asking them to take care of the pups until the humans had gone. Unfortunately, the humans left only when they had killed each and every wolf in the pack; the Alphas never returned to claim their pups. Most of the transferred pups died a few days after they were taken to their new territory due to malnourishment, though fortunately Scar Mai survived. He entered assessment a week later on February 8, 2005.

When Scar Mai was moved to the new pack, he only remembered a few important names. His dad Astronder Winds, his mother Golden Winds, and his old pack Alphas - Mystic Rouge and Arius Fang by whom he was named.
