RustWind is a three and 1/2 year-old Ethiopian wolf. He has a light, swift frame and has speed to match it. He has a vivid coat of red fur with a deep rusty brown on his back and white along his neck and belly. Rustwind stands 2'10 and measures 5'3 from nose to tip of his tail. He has an enduring optimistic personality and tries to make the best of every situation.

Rustwind is originally from the desert terrain of Ethiopia, but a short time ago he was taken captive by human researchers who shot him with a dart. Once back in a more northernly climate, Rust escaped when his cage fell off the back of the research truck and broke open at the side of the road. Upon crawling out Rust was surprised to find that he was no longer in his desert home and stood deeply confused and angered at what had happened to him.

He took off into the forest, knowing that it would be foolhardy to stay near the road. As he traveled he came upon various packs, and he has developed a deep connection with some of the packs that he now calls his good friends. Still lonely for his desert pack he has chosen to honour their memory by remaining a wanderer despite the welcoming packs he has come across and the new friends he has grown to love.
