Roses

A single red rose lies before me
Silver ones by my side
A blackened one lies behind me
Silver opposite white

The bundles of sweet smelling roses
Tempting, yet I must choose
Silver, the road to all riches
Black ones mean I could lose

The redder the better the loving
Marriage could lie around here
The white one, peace lies in store soon
To choose takes a few years

Could You?

Could you ever love me?
Could you ever care?
Do you ever think of me?
Do you notice when I stare?
Could you ever hold me?
Could you even dare?
Do you know I love you?
Is this a feeling that is shared?

Many times I've told you
Many times I've held you
But only in my dreams
The morning brings, only tears
Would you ever forgive me?
Could you ever see?
Do you know the pain I'm in,
Every time you look at me?
