Trip to Glendalough 13 July 2003
We all decided to go to Glendalough for a day to hike and enjoy the exceptionally nice weather.
Emilie, Jean-Pierre, Herv, Veronique, a girl I don't actually know, Vincent and me. It was lovely...
We walked around a bit as we didn't know where to go...
On the way to Glendalough I spotted this really nice picture. Well, it would have been nicer, but there was no place to stop... oops...
...and enjoyed the view.
I don't exactly know where this road leads to...
We had decided to climb a bit. Some people stayed behind, and no one actually thought we'd be gone for like 4 HOURS... we just decided to just keep walking...oops... But the view was amazing!
Here you can see the first (small) lake and the monastery in the background. Here you can see both lakes. For this view it was worth hiking 2 hours... (yeah, we still had the way back ahead of us)
The Glendalough Champs, the four of us made it up there: Jean-Pierre, Emilie, me and this Belgian dude whose name I forgot (sorry...)
And there we are, the two girls who usually complain the most actually made it to the top of the hill! Needless to say we were quite proud.:o)
Emilie was quite thirsty... It was so handy she brought this humungous bottle of water, especially for the rest of us... *evil smile*
The 2nd lake (it's huge)
It was quite steep up there...
There was this purple plant there... Unfortunately you can't really see it here...
Told you it was huge...
There were even some goats there!
I slipped around here somewhere and landed ass-first in the mud. Am still waiting for that photo... aya!
We had to walk through this. Not that easy I can tell you...
We were slowly getting back to civilization...
One last pick of the view, and off we went to Herv's surprise bday party...
So 4 hrs later we'd joined the rest of the group again and walked back to the car through the old monastery.
