Knights and nobility, from blood soaked fields to cushioned thrones. These Canites rule the night like no other, even the Lasombra envy them. One Ventrue told me that their founder was favoured by Caine, like Ive said before all of them say that to an extent. That it was he who was asked to watch over the Canites and to keep order and the laws in-place. If this is true they have little in the way of proof. Ventrue vary as do all Canites no matter their bloodline. If the Ventrue was a heroic warrior or knight in life in undeath he is very much the same. No matter where they are they rule as they are meant to be, or so they say.

This however is an unfortunate truth and it applies to all the clans, the longer one lives the more respect youve earned. Everyone seems to think great wisdom comes with great age; I beg to differ on that score. However, its common among the ranks of the Ventrue, for one of the elders to mentor a younger Ventrue, thus passing on his eternal wisdom and knowledge. From what I have seen it is very beneficial to the childe, and it becomes a source of pride for the elder who brings her promising student so far in such a short span of time. After all whats a decade or two to beings like us?

This I do find rather perplexing, in life the deeds or titles mean little to the Ventrue, even in death, those lands and titles that went with them still mean little. Now you would think that the Ventrue would be pleased that their holdings just got that much larger, its expanded. I would be thrilled if a member of my clan was able to bring with her more lands and that which came with it. Then again I am no Ventrue. What means more to them are the combined efforts to gather and take unto themselves more holdings, even the single effort of the Ventrue is appreciated more then the fledgling who was a king and brought thousands of miles of land with him into unlife. In one aspect they still act very much like mortals, when a proposal is brought to their attention they will deliberate over it for ages till a unanimous decision is made. How dreadfully boring, I'm glad I am not a Ventrue.

Obsessive, when they seek the end of a long sought after goal, stay out of their way. Never ever come between that which a Ventrue seeks, the fight can be a terrible one. There is nothing more truly horrifying then a Ventrue on a rant when striving towards the end of a long walked well worn road. Ambition, they drink it up like we draw the life from the mortals we care for. Strangely enough, they have an easier time when working with other members of varies clans. Now correct me if you think Im wrong, but wouldnt it be easier if they tried working together? Then again if what I am told is true, then their own ambitions get in the way of the true goal of the thing they collaborate on, so I can see why they would prefer to make allies among the other clans.

The Ventrue have been as they are for far longer then I have been a Canite, I dont think that over time they will change at all. Pride, honour and power the Ventrue creed, no one ever said it had to make sense to anyone but them. Let them have their noble aspirations, we all have them, though secretly.
