Damned, cursed. No other clan can say that more than the Nosferatu. They bear the worst fate of any of Caines childer. In the bible it says we are made in Gods image. Not the Nosferatu. Their bodies get twisted and changed by their blood. The eyes of mortal man cannot look on them without being frightened or disgusted. Even we have that difficulty. Most, if not all, are cast out of our meetings and dining halls, forcing them to live out their existance in the most unseemly places, and the most foul. Hiding in the shadows, lurking unseen.
They do not interact with the human world, except to lurk as I said before on the barest fringe and bolster the fear among the kine. They raid our herds and take that which is not theirs to take making us force them into unspeakable barren lands. Its convient to blame them on all manner of problems and dark deeds unspoken by the gentle kine, since their exile. The reputation that spread out over Cainite society has forced them to remain in the shadows unseen by all, thus keeping them all from being exterminated on sight. Which I can tell you many Cainites would like to do, they are considered a blight across the lands we inhabit.
Now, in order to save their twisted bodies, they have begun to bring pertinent information to those Cainites who rule in any city. Their traveling ways, moving from city to city, boasts much in the way of information. They in turn give this, sell this information to their less traveled siblings. There in the cities they may hunt unfettered, undisturbed. What Ventrue Prince wouldnt take the information provided by them in exchange for a couple of filthy beggers no one will miss? He will hold his nose and deal with them rightly. If not, well, the Nosferatu arent above going to the local Lasombra and sharing what they have on the Ventrue, or resort to black mail.
Knowing they are cursed by God, they have begun to see Christianity as their salvation, that through Christ they may be able to save themselves from this terrible curse. The spread of Christianity has altered many a Cainites view on things and themselves. This self established penance they endure here on earth, it's this that ensures they will not end up in the fires of hell when they see final death. Since the Nosferatu lurk on the fringes of mortal life, believe it or not, they do try and do some amount of good from the shadows.
All in all it will be interesting to see what becomes of the Nosferatu as time marches forward. Where will they be, what will be their place in society? Too many questions to be answered right now. Let the future decide.
