When the Crusaders came home, it was expected that they would have many a wondrous tale to tell their friends and family> None fascinated them more then the tale of the marauding nomadic killers. Europe at this time called this band of nomads assassins. Cainites however called them by another name entirely, Clan Assamite, feared for their silent ways of killing and equally terrifying practice of the Amaranth.

Cainites of the Western portion of the world already had confrentations with these killers, long before anyone else would. Its rumored that the famed conquers of the Ancient world were actually sent into these lands because their domitor feared these Assamites. All of that aside, they are outright feared for their practice of the Amaranth. An Assamite who stays loyal to his teachings knows that walking the road means, to drink the blood of a lower generation Cainite, the more you drink the closer to Caine he will get.

I don't know much about these men, these Cainites who to me are strange indeed. Am I afraid of them? In a way yes; who wouldn't be if the very shadows you walk through suddenly leap to life and press a dagger aganist your tender throat. It's something I am certian we all think of from time to time. As far as I know there isn't one of their number here, but, again, it wouldn't surprise me if there was one here. The lower generations of Cainites range far and wide over Europe. Could you face one knowing that you looked death in the eye?

According to their teachings, they must lower their generation in order to get closer to the dark father that is in fact false. They are taught the teachings of their clan founder, Haqim. It is through his teachings that they walk the Blood Road, thus bringing them closer to him. The only way to do this is by committing diablerie. Killing just happens to be a big part of it, and they are taught to boost their skills in this area. Assamites will on occasion accept a contract from a Cainite; they have no compunctions about killing non-Assamites. They are infidels, not of the blood and theyre far below their notice.

Infidels, that means I am low on the scale, if they even give Cainites like me a second glance. Perhaps if they know my blood is weaker then the local Lasombra Lord, they will leave me well enough alone. I heard, from a reluctant source, that one of the Assassins was in Londinium under contract. I wonder who the target is.

In recent nights, the Crusades have brought with them a whole new trouble. Theyve stirred up the hornets nest causing Assamite activity to come to a peak of zealous marauding. The Assamites have suffered, perhaps if only in silence, as they watched their herds and familes suffer at the hands of the Western Cainites. Revenge will be theirs.

Now we get down to tid bits of things I've managed to collect on these Assamites. They follow a very strict code called the Khabar, if this is new among them I don't know. It follows very basic principals really, honor, revenge, follow the teachings of Haquim. If they do this they believe they will have a place on the Mountain, or so I've gathered. If there is an Assamite out there who reads this and finds my writings to be false....well lets just say I won't be around anymore to put quill to parchment.
