parallel world he dubs "Earth 2," it begins an adventure of
staggering, unpredictable proportions in the first-ever original JLA hardcover
graphic novel. In JLA: EARTH 2, the League must confront its evil mirror image

BATMAN BEYOND - NEW EPISODE DETAILS
--------------------------------------
The latest new episode of Batman Beyond, "Earth
Mover," introduces a character of the same name, will premiere Saturday
25th September at 9:30 a.m. on Kids' WB!
"Earth Mover does what the name implies," said
Batman Beyond producer Alan Burnett. "He's a rotting corpse who lives in
the ground and creates earthquakes," added producer Paul Dini.
Here's how Kids' WB! describes the episode: "A
monster capable of manipulating earth appears in Gotham to reclaim his human
daughter from the man who is responsible for turning him into a mud
creature."
BATMAN BEYOND RETURNEES
----------------------
In addition to new villains, the BATMAN BEYOND producers
have hinted that several of the first season's villains - Shriek, the Royal
Flush Gang, Spellbinder and Inque - will eventually be returning.
Also watch out for a possible appearance by classic Bat
villain Ra's Al Ghul.
BEYOND PRIME TIME ?
-------------------
Apparently there is a strong push inside WB for Batman
Beyond to run in a "prime time" slot. However producer Bruce Timm
thinks that it will remain in its Saturday morning slot for at least a while
longer. "Yes, there is interest in Batman Beyond in prime time, but they
really need Batman Beyond on Saturday mornings. It's kind of an umbrella show;
it helps raise the ratings on all the shows. They need it to help prop up
Saturday mornings."
BATMAN BEYOND ON VIDEO
-------------------------
The BATMAN ANIMATED NEWSLETTER reports that Warner
Brothers have announced that they will be releasing three BATMAN BEYOND videos
in December ( possible ship date is Dec 21st). Each tape will contain three
episodes and be priced around $12,
The volumes will be as follows:
- BATMAN BEYOND:
DISAPPEARING INQUE

Inque" and "A Touch Of Curare"
- BATMAN BEYOND:
SCHOOL DAYZ
This tape will feature "Gotham Golem,"
"The Winning Edge," and "Dead Man's Hand"
- BATMAN BEYOND:
TECH WARS
This tape will feature "Shriek",
"Heroes", and "Meltdown"
POSSIBLE NEW BATGIRL / HUNTRESS FOR BATMAN BEYOND?
-----------------------------------------------------
Producer Bruce Timm is hinting that the new supporting
character "Max Gibson" introduced in the second season opening
episode "Splicers" may play a larger role in the future of the Batman
Beyond franchise.
Here's the official how Kids' WB! Description of the
character ""Maxine 'Max' Gibson, a classmate and close confidant of
Terry McGinnis, is the ultimate individualist. She is a strong-willed
African-American girl who marches, dresses and does just about everything to
the beat of her own drum. Schoolwork comes easy for Max. She is a computer
whiz, and especially adept at finding well-hidden and somewhat esoteric
information on the Internet. Max is the only person, besides Bruce Wayne and
Barbara Gordon, who learns of Terry's true identity as Batman. She is more than
happy to help Terry out when his double life gets him into trouble - either at
school or at home - but she often yearns to be more help to his more exciting
alter ego. So, in the meantime, Max awaits the day when she can be part of the
real adventure."
Bruce Timm told the Comics Continuum web site that
"We've come just short in turning her into the new Robin," Timm
added that a new Robin or Batgirl might
be possible on Batman Beyond, but probably not soon.
"For a while there, we were toying with the idea of
bringing in a Batgirl-type of character," he said. "We were getting a
lot of pressure from lots of different areas, saying, 'You have to do a new
Batgirl.' We were getting pressure from different corners to do that. And we're
not really against the idea. We don't want to have a recurring Batgirl
character as much as the old Batman show had. We don't want to have someone who
teams up with him every episode. But we were talking about doing an updated
version of the Huntress, so that may happen."
