WELCOME
==========
IMPORTANT NOTE
------------------
As I mentioned last week we are moving all the GOTHAM
GAZETTE related activities to a new web domain. The first step in this is to
change our e-mail system. This means we have a new e-mail address and a new
mail list server.
In order to keep receiving GOTHAM WEEKLY NEWS, you MUST
REREGISTER by sending an e-mail with the subject heading "Subscribe
GWN" to our new e-mail address
If you would like to, you can also include your name and
location. This isn't necessary, but would help us track just where in the world
GWN readers are located.
Sorry about any inconvenience this may cause.
AUSSIE BAT COLLECTORS WANTED
-------------------------------
GWN recently received this request.
>>Urgently seeking a collector of Batman
merchandise, who has a large retrospective collection of archival toys from the
Batman range. Preferably, the collector would be located in Australia, however,
anyone with a good collection would be very helpful<<
If you can help please contact Natalie Chaponnel at [email protected]
HURRICANE DELAY
------------------
I apologize for the late delivery of this week's GWN. But
we had a visit from Hurricane Floyd late last week that impacted my schedule.
We spent most of Thursday bailing water out of our basement for around 13
hours. With no power! We managed to keep the water from reaching my office so
the computers, comics and Batman collection stayed dry. But only just. The
weekend has been devoted to cleaning up and getting back to normal.
Have a great week.

"No Man's Land" nears a fever pitch as
Two-Face, Penguin and Bane collide in Part 1 of the 2-part "Goin'
Downtown." While Two-Face goes to war with the combined gang forces of the
Demonz and the Eightballs, Penguin seeks out Batman's help to learn the truth
behind the territory wars, and Bane makes a big return, clearing the way for a
plan that may prevent the Dark Knight from discovering the means for saving
Gotham. (32 pages, $1.99.)

husband, the final battle begins for Selina Kyle's city, as well as her very
soul. (48 pages, $5.95.)
DAY OF JUDGMENT #4
Written by Geoff Johns; art and cover by Matt Smith and
Steve Mitchell.
Superman's team makes the ultimate sacrifice to reignite

ROBIN YEAR 1.1
-------------------------
Chuck Dixon is writing a four-part Prestige Format
mini-series with the working title Robin: Year 1.1. The series will focus on
the early days of Dick Grayson as Robin.
"It covers from the end of The Gauntlet (a recent
one-shot that showed Dick Grayson's initiation into becoming Robin) to the end
of Dick's first year as
Robin," Dixon told the Comics Continuum web site.
BATMAN IN THE 70s
--------------------
DC Comics has announced that it will follow its Batman in
the Sixties collection with a Batman in the Seventies book scheduled to be in
stores this December.
MORE GOTHAM KNIGHTS
---------------------
Batman editor Dennis O'Neil recently described the
approach for Batman:
Gotham Knights, the new title to be written by Devin
Grayson, to Rob Allstetter of the Comics Contimuum.
.
"It's the trickiest to describe," he said.
"It will deal with relationships.
It will deal with the travails of a man who is
essentially a loner as he
comes to realize that he can no longer live his life
isolated and using
people more than relating to them. It will be -- I've
heard around the office
it described as a team book -- and while it will have
costumed characters
interacting with Batman, it will sometimes have Batman
interacting with the
ordinary citizens of Gotham City, or the cops, or the
mailmen or whomever."
O'Neil also said he might explore the new Batgirl
character in his Bat-book,
Azrael: Agent of the Bat.
"In writing the last Azrael script, I realize that
her and Azrael have
similar backgrounds, and we may play on that and we may
not," he said.
