WELCOME
==========
WE'RE ON THE MOVE
------------------
"GOTHAM GAZETTE - The BATMAN Magazine On The
Web" and "GOTHAM WEEKLY NEWS" will soon be on the move. If all
goes to plan by the end of the month we will have shifted our Internet
operations from a variety of providers and sites to one consolidated site with
our own domain name.
As a consequence site URLs and e-mail addresses will
change. I'll keep you all informed as and when the changes occur.
By the end we should have a larger, more stable site that
will allow us to provide even more Batman News and Batman related content.
And on that note, have a great week.

BATMAN BEYOND #1
Written by Hilary J. Bader; art by Craig Rousseau and Rob
Leigh; cover by Bob Smith and Terry Beatty.
It's the battle fans have demanded as classic Batman
faces future Batman in the debut of a new ongoing title based on the Kids' WB
animated series. Something seems to have gone horribly wrong with Terry
McGinnis and now, as Batman, he's gone on a spree of terror, wreaking havoc on
Gotham City. Bruce Wayne determines that the only way to stop him is to once
again don the garb of the Dark Knight and bring down the new Batman. But
there's much more here than meets the eye when the reader learns who's behind
the terror and which Batman is being controlled (32 pages, $1.99)
BATMAN: SHADOW OF THE BAT #91
Written by Steven Barnes; art by Paul Ryan and Andy
Lanning; painted cover by Bill Sienkiewicz.
"Underground Railroad" concludes as Robin and
Bock track down Tubman and the hidden railroad leading out of No Man's Land.
It's a race against time to save the lives of Gotham's children. Unfortunately,
Penguin's deathmatch fighter, Angel, and his militia motorcycle band want Bock
dead at all costs. (32 pages, $1.99)
BATMAN: NO MAN'S LAND BOOK 1 TP
Written by Bob Gale and Devin Grayson; art by Alex Maleev,
Dale Eaglesham, Batt, Wayne Faucher, and various; cover by Maleev.
The first two explosive storylines following Gotham's
fall -- stories that included the first glimpse of a new Batgirl -- are
collected in a trade paperback. Reprinting the Batman: No Man's Land special,
Batman: Shadow of the Bat #83-84, Batman #563-564, Detective Comics #730-731,
and Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #116, No Man's Land Book 1 collects the
story that introduced readers to the turf-war ruled former Gotham, "No Law
and a New Order" (written by Bob Gale with art by Alex Maleev and Wayne
Faucher) and the story illuminating the lives of other players in NML -- among
them the Huntress and the Scarecrow -- "Fear of Faith" (written by
Devin Grayson with art by Dale Eaglesham, Batt, Aaron Sowd, Sam Parsons, and
Jaime Mendoza). The collection features a new cover by Maleev and a cover
gallery that includes Alex Ross' cover for the Batman: No Man's Land - Standard
and pieces by J. Scott Campbell, Bill Sienkiewicz, Tony Harris and more. (200
pages, $12.95)
DAY OF JUDGMENT #3
Written by Geoff Johns; art and cover by Matt Smith and
Steve Mitchell.
Hell is for heroes. Superman, Green Lantern and Zatanna
lead a force of DC heroes into the now-frozen Underworld to re-ignite the dark
realm's fires. Meanwhile, Captain Marvel leads a group of heroes in search of
the one weapon that might stop the Spectre: the Spear of Destiny; and Wonder
Woman's team struggles to leave Limbo with a new heroic host for the Spectre.
(32 pages, $2.50)
THE TITANS #9
Written by Devin Grayson; art by Ale Garza and Caleb
Salstrom; cover by Dan Jurgens and Bill Sienkiewicz.
Raven returns as the Day of Judgment wreaks havoc on the
DCU. In an issue featuring guest pencils by Ale Garza, the team's former resident
empath seeks Troia's help to reach the gates of Heaven. Plus, a Titans foe from
the past faces off against Tartarus. (32 pages, $2.50)

BOB KANE'S INSPIRATION FOUND
---------------------------------------------------
The BBC reports that THE BAT WHISPERS, one of the movies
cited by Bob Kane as key to the creation of The Batman, has been
recovered. The widescreen movie has been
found and restored by the UCLA film archive. It's story was that of a master
criminal who dressed as a bat. "There's a moment when he emerges from the
shadows which has the feel of something very special and is the kind of image
that will stay with you," explains Erich Sargeant of the British Film
Institute, which is planning on releasing The Bat Whispers on video.
