BATGIRL GOES SOLO ?
--------------------
The rumor mill has it that the new Batgirl will allegedly
get her own on-going title some time next year.
GREG RUCKA DISCUSSES HIS TAKE ON DETECTIVE
------------------------------------------
Greg Rucka the regular writer of Detective Comics from
next year recently discussed his ideas for the title with the Continuum
website.
"I like writing cops and this thing's called
Detective, so you're going to see a lot of the cops, how Batman interacts with
the cops and how he interacts with Gordon," Rucka said. "The first
four or five issues will deal prominently with what happens when you have a
city that sort of is being re-opened, and is consequently being re-opened to
the criminal element. There will be high-powered concepts, but not as much. I
initially want to deal with the thing that has always made Gotham an urban
nightmare - and that is organized crime. It's always been there.
Rucka hinted that there are tentative plans to increase
the page-count of Detective Comics to include a serial adventure in the final
pages.
"The serialized stories may relate to the main story
or they may be something entirely different," he said. "Everybody's
really excited about it, and I think it's a great idea."
