NOLAN RETURNS TO BATMAN

------------------------

Former ALFRED AWARDS winner and Detective Comics artist Graham Nolan recently told The Continuum web-site that he will be writing and drawing a full-length story entitled Homicide Division for an (as yet unscheduled) upcoming issue of Batman Chronicles.

"The story is about the murder of a Gotham homicide detective, who he is, who he was, and what it is truly like to work in the homicide division of the most crime-ridden city in the world. Batman relentlessly pursues the killer and at the end of the story we find out why it was so personal to him."

Nolan's other new Batman work includes pencilling the Batman annual and writing and drawing "The Penny Plunderer," a trophy room story for Batman Chronicles #19.

PAUL DINI SPEAK ABOUT BATMAN BEYOND

--------------------------------------

At last weekend's DRAGON*CON in Atlanta, Batman Beyond writer / producer spoke on a panel regarding the future of the various Batman animated projects at WB.

On the Batman Beyond movie Dini confirmed that he'd "just finished a script for a Batman Beyond animated movie out next Christmas." Dini did not give any more details about the film, which should be a "straight to video" release.

At a Batman panel, Dini also addressed persistent rumors of an animated Justice League of America series.

Dini also confirmed that "no new episodes of Batman or Superman are planned for immediate production", and both series' episode runs will complete in the fall season. This includes an, as yet unaired, Batman episode with pits Batman and Superman against Ra's Al Ghul.

BATMAN ON TV FOR AT LEAST NEXT 2 YEARS

----------------------------------------

According to Mark Douglas of the excellent Dark Justice web site WB has officially ordered 52 new BATMAN BEYOND episodes for the 1999\2000 season. Out of those 52 new episodes 21 of them will be traditionally hand painted. The other 31 episodes will all be DIGITAL -- computer rendered!

Mark also reports that The Batman\Superman Adventures will return with new episodes in the 2000\2001 Season, when Batman Beyond will go on hiatus.
