---------------------------------------------------------

The first round of online reader voting for DC's Millennium Editions reprints program has concluded, and DC has announced that a clear-cut winner had emerged. Detective Comics #39 received nearly 3 times as many of the over 6,000 votes cast as the next runner-up, Wonder Woman #178.

The 1970 issue marked the beginning of the collaboration between Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams with the story Secret of the Waiting Graves. DC Comics Millennium Edition: Detective Comics #39 will ship to comics' stores in April of 2000.

IT'S THE BATTLE OF THE AGES IN YOUNG JUSTICE: SINS OF YOUTH

--------------------------------------------------------------

The media and government attacks on DC's youngest super-team come to a head with unexpected results in YOUNG JUSTICE: SINS OF YOUTH event arriving in March comprised of two extra-sized "bookend" issues and eight one-shots starring surprising pairings of young and adult heroes. Making these pairings even more offbeat, the young heroes have suddenly become adults, while, simultaneously, the older heroes have become kids!

Building on storylines going back to YOUNG JUSTICE #1 that culminated in recent events in the series the government has begun a full investigation of YJ's activities. Behind the scenes, the organization called the Agenda has orchestrated the government involvement as part of a larger plan...one that will affect all the DCU's greatest heroes. It all reaches a boiling point in SINS OF YOUTH #1, written by YOUNG JUSTICE's Peter David with art by YJ's Todd Nauck and Lary Stucker. Stage one -- which involves the evil Klarion the Witch Boy's mystically transforming the world's adult super-heroes into teens -- goes off without a hitch. But then the team of Golden Age sidekicks known as Old

Justice enters the fray. They try to force Klarion to restore Superman, BATMAN and the rest to their original ages, but the wicked Klarion instead turns the teen heroes into adults!

The related one-shots includes SINS OF YOUTH: BATBOY & ROBIN #1 by Chuck Dixon, Cary Nord and Mark Lipka

BATMAN STOLEN !!

-----------------

APBnews.com is reporting the theft of two of the most valuable comic books in the world from a well-heeled Westport Connecticut waterfront vacation home. Missing are Action Comics # - the first appearance of Superman, valued at $200,000 - and BATMAN #1 - valued at approximately $63,000 - which according to some is a conservativee estimate. Only a handful of each comic remains. Of the 250 known copies of the Batman #1, 16 are in nearly perfect condition. The condition of the stolen copies is not known.

Both comics were reportedly stolen from a safe, but the home was not continuously occupied, and they may have been stolen any time over the last several months. Westport police - who as per standard procedure for this type of case would not identify the comics' owner - have no leads and no suspects in the heist. "It's pretty sketchy," said Officer George Marks. "It will be under investigation for as long as it takes." Also missing was $500 in cash and a pair of gold earrings, leading police to believe the thief may have not known what they were stealing.

BRUCE WAYNE ON TV ?

---------------------

There have been several reports over the last few days on The Comics  Continuum, Ain't-It-Cool News, Newsrama and other sites that the WB network is considering a live-action television pilot, tentatively called "BRUCE WAYNE." The show would apparently focus on an 18-year-old Bruce traveling the world in his training to become The Batman.

One source said that the Bruce Wayne project might be tied to the possible

Batman: Year One-style feature film that could be the next installment of the

Batman movie franchise from Warner Bros.

According to a report on the Ain't it Cool News website, Tim McCanlies (who wrote the excellent Iron Giant) will write the series, and the Tollin-Robbins team will produce. The report goes on to say that Warner Brothers is thrilled with the pilot script, and are trying to nail down a network for the series, either the WB or Fox.

Contrary to other reports, AICN reports that the series will pick up with an 18 year-old Bruce Wayne's return to Gotham after traveling around the world. While the series would co-star certain familiar characters in Wayne's life, such as Jim Gordon and other women, presumably, Selina Kyle, the crux of the series would be what Wayne would go through that would eventually lead him to become Gotham's costumed defender.

The report concludes stating that the series will debut in the fall of 2000.

MOVIE NEWS

***********

BATMAN BEYOND MOVIE "SNEAK PEEK"

---------------------------------

According to various sources WB are planning on including a "sneak peek" of next year's BATMAN BEYOND movie as part off the Iron Giant video release.

"TWO-FACE" PREQUEL MOVIE ?

---------------------------

Rumors have it that the WB want to use a gritty crime-drama as a backdrop for their next Bat-movie. In keeping with this "prequel" phenomenon in recent months, they've decided to use the much-underused "Two-Face" character in a Batman "prequel", set sometime between "Batman Returns" and "Batman Forever". Should this plan go ahead, word has it that the WB is attempting to woo Tommy Lee Jones back into the role, promising him what they originally promised when they signed him on for "Forever", before either Carrey or Schumacher joined the crew: that the film would play out like a darker, more sinister version of his origin on the animated series.
