Now that threat has arrived, the doomsday weapon of the Old Gods...the "anti-sun" known as Mageddon. But if that weren't threat enough, Lex Luthor has assembled a new Injustice Gang -- with Prometheus, the General, and a new Queen Bee at its core -- and they're launching a fearsome assault on the JLA Watchtower. MOVIE NEWS

***********

"YEAR ONE" OR "BEYOND"

-------------------------

The king of movie gossip Harry Knowles recently posted this snippet on his "ain't-it-cool news" website. Based on a conversation he was party to while visiting LA. Apparently Warner Bros are feeling the pressure ( mainly from the merchandisers and toy companies) for another Bat movie. Harry reports that two distinct approaches are being considered.

One follows the much rumored adaptation of Frank Miller's excellent "Batman: Year One." Apparently Ben Affleck's name is still attached to this one.

The other approach being studied is for a "Batman Beyond" live action movie. And this maybe the project that Kenau Reeves is linked to. Apparently a script is underway for this one with a potential shooting date to start after the Matrix sequel(s) wrap.

AKIVA SPPEAKS

----------------

Akiva Goldsman the "writer" of Batman Forever and Batman & Robin recently discussed his take on the current state of the Batman franchise with the UK's "Empire" magazine.

He started by defending his work on the last two Bat movies." , "There are scenes in Batman Forever, " Goldsman said, "which are as true to the version of Batman that I believe in as I think I know how to write, or arguably could be written. They're psychologically acute, dark character scenes. They actually do exist in Batman and Robin - you just can't find them."

When asked about the Kenau as Batman rumor, Goldman replied ""The ideal sort of version would be Keanu and the Wachowskis (Writers and directors of The Matrix). That would be cool. My guess is it's not true, because I think Warners currently has a tremendous amount invested very successfully in The Matrix as does Keanu and the Wachowskis. If I were them, I would do what was planned [on The Matrix sequels]."

REEVES TESTED ?

-----------------

Unnamed sources are quoted on JettD60's "Batman 5" website as saying that Keanu Reeves "may have been tested for (the role of Batman to satisfy) his interest." The same sources say that many "...actors have been considered for the role."
