Two new  Elseworlds projects on the schedule include BATMAN: HAUNTED GOTHAM from Doug Moench, Kelley Jones and John Beatty and BATMAN: BOOK OF THE DEAD by Doug Moench and Barry Kitson which ties ancient Egyptian mythology into the Batman legend.

The  Irish TV station RTE2 broadcasts The New Batman Adventures on Tuesdays around 5pm. These are the new episodes and sometimes they air ahead of the USA.

 

BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES

The Cartoon Network is running selected episodes airing Monday through Friday at 6.00 pm  Eastern & Pacific time.

 

From Brian Davis comes news that Batman is back on the Cartoon Network, Europe every day at 7pm UK Time.

 

Sean Wilson reports that  Global TV is showing Batman: The Animated Series at 7:00 am (PST).

Several GWN readers have also reported that showing at 4.30pm (EST) weekdays are a variety of Super-Hero related cartoons including episodes of SUPERFRIENDS and the old 1970's vintage BATMAN shows.

The Canadian cable channel  Space! is showing selected episodes from the classic Adam West TV show. At a NEW TIME of  1.30pm (EDT) Monday thru Friday.

At long last Chip Kidd's excellent BATMAN ANIMATED book has started to appear in book stores. For those of you who pre-ordered the book through Amazon.com, they say it will start shipping this week.

JLA ARRIVES AT KAY*BEE

--------------------------------------------

The Kay*Bee toy store chain has started to sell its exclusive line of JLA figures. Included in the first wave are BATMAN and HUNTRESS figures. The figures are repackaged repaints of the Total Justice figures. They retail for $8.00 but most Kay*Bee stores are selling them for around $6. Kay*Bee has also introduced a Batman Frequent Buyer program, pick up a special card and get it stamped each time you buy a Batman figure (priced at  $5.99 or more), after 4 purchases the fifth Batman figure (upto a $7.99 value) is free. The promotion ends 12/31.

 

EXCLUSIVE FIGURES AT NEW HASBRO WEB-SITE

Hasbro has launched a new web-site aimed specifically at figure collectors. The new site  (http://www.HasbroCollectors.com) is designed to sell exclusive figures and provide news and forums for figure collectors. Among the brands being featured at the launch are the various BATMAN series, with the offer of an exclusive CLAYFACE figure from the Batman: Legends Of The Dark Knight line. Two exclusive Legends repaints will be offered at a later date - new versions of the Dark Knight Detective and Spline-Cape Batman figures. Hasbro has also indicated that the Animated Batman line of 12" figures will be revived and offered on-line. Figures planned include Robin, Harley Quinn and Batgirl.
