BOB KANE TRIBUTES

======================

Thanks to all those readers who've sent their thoughts and condolences for the Bob Kane tribute book I'm putting together. I now have the name of the  person at DC who will pass it on to the Kane family. I would like to complete the book farily soon so will only be accepting contributions for one more week. If you'd like to send a message to Bob Kane's family or share your thoughts on his passing - just send me an e-mail.

ALREDS

=========

Thanks also to all of those who've voted in the 1998 Alfred Awards. The number of people who've voted so far has surpassed last years total. We have some clear cut leaders in a few catergories, but the majority of them are still closely fought. So if you haven't voted yet just visit http://members.aol.com/gothamajp/alfreds.htm for a list of categories.

SILLY RUMOR OF THE WEEK !

***************************************

Ther is a rumor doing the rounds of the Internet that a high-level Time Warner meeting took place with all the Vice Presidents and above present. At that meeting was Ted Turner, who stated that Time Warner owns three of the most prominent US icons -- Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman -- and that none of them are being exploited properly.  His suggestion after looking at the situation? For a start, Batman should be taken away from DC Comics and handed to the Cartoon Network to manage, publish and exploit !!
