Thanks in some part must go to Tony Isabella "America's Most Beloved Comic-Book

daily read offering an amusing insight into the life and thoughts of one of the
best comic book writers around.
Tony's column for 11/13 (# 151) includes his thoughts on
Batman/Phantom Stranger, Long Halloween and the Prodigal trade paperback. -
Check it out and see if you agree.

NEW TOYS FOR 1998
----------------------------------
Look out for a Batman Action Figure bonaza next year as
Keener has announced no less than four different Batman segments ready to hit
the shelves in 98.
1. From the new
animated series comes a "New Adventures Of Batman" line featuring
figures that reflect the new designs - look out for various versions of both
Batman and Nightwing alongside a diminutive Tim Drake/ Robin. Also to be
featured are Two-Face, the Joker and the Mad Hatter. These should be arriving
in stores from Feb 98 onwards.
2. The new animated style will also be seen in die-cast
form with seperate releases of Batwing, Batboat, Batmobile, Batgirl on
Batcycle, Batman & Robin, Joker & Penguin. A multi-pack with an
exclusive Batman figure will also be offered.
3. The Elseworld's inspired "Legends of the Dark
Knight" line will release its fourth wave of figures with Lava Fury Batman
and Batgirl in August and Dark Knight Batman and Clayface in October. November
will see a special release collectors edition "Bob Kane" Batman.
4. The "Batman & Robin" movie line will be
continued with more standard and deluxe figures ( featuring "Covert Strike
Capes"), plus new two-packs and vehicles.
As a bonus Kenner has announced that in September 1998 it
will release a brand new, as yet unnamed, Batman figure line !!
Pictures of the new animated style toys can be found at

"BATMAN & ROBIN" VIDEO SALES
--------------------------------------------------------
Surprisingly over the last week Batman & Robin has
stayed at the top of the video charts, but changed positions as far as Rentals
and Sales go. However as Star Trek: First Contact, Lost World and MIB hit the
shelves over the next few weeks I don't think B&R will stay at the top for
long.
Positions last week:
Video Sales #2 (Previous week #1)
Video Rentals #1 (Previous week #2)
