It is very easy to remove the outside ‘paint’ just run them under warm water for a minute or so, the cellophane that covers the outside will start to crack, you can then peel it off and discard it. You might want to put a piece of cheesecloth or an old strainer over the drain of the sink so that the cellophane doesn’t go down the drain and clog it.
