Puzzle
Wreath
Christmas Decoration
Sorry, my picture came
out very badly
... these really are a cute ornament
Materials:
Pieces
from an old jigsaw puzzle (the smaller peices)
Green high gloss acrylic or lacquer spray paint
Red Tulip paint either shiny or the pearl
Red ribbon
Thin gold braid string
Hot glue gun and glue
Awl or other sharp tool strong enough to poke a hole in the top of the
ornament
Waxed paper
Round topped drinking glass or circle pattern in the size of your
choice
Pencil
This
will make several ornaments if you use the entire puzzle
Lay
out the puzzle pieces on newspaper and spray paint them with the green
paint,
two to three coats.
On
waxed paper, trace circle pattern. This will give you a guide to work
with,
however your wreath will not be a perfect circle.
Lay
out the first layer of puzzle pieces, painted side up, following your
guide.
Make sure that each piece is touching the other.
Make
a second layer, gluing the pieces down and staggering them so that one
second-layer piece is glued to two bottom layer pieces. Continue the
process
until to make a third layer and if desired a fourth layer as well.
Using
the Tulip paint, dab three little dots of color in bunches around the
wreath to
make it appear that the wreath has berries.
When
berries are dry, glue a red ribbon to the wreath.
Use
the awl to punch a whole at the top of the ornament and thread the hole
with a
length of the gold braid to make a hanger. You can also just string the
braid
through the center of the wreath (Sometimes it won't hang straight like
this
though).
