Marbleized Paper

Materials needed:

* Clean dishwashing basin

* Liquid starch

* Acrylic craft paint in desired colors

* White copy or computer paper

* Paintbrush, toothpicks, or an old comb (toothpicks work best)

* eyedroppers, one for each color

* Water

For each color desired mix 1 tablespoon of paint with 2 tablespoons of water.

Fill the basin with about 1 to 2 inches of liquid starch.

Use the eyedroppers to drop small amounts of the thinned paint.

Use only one or two colors at a time, too many colors will make a muddy brown color.

Use the end of a paintbrush, toothpick or old comb to gently swirl the colors together.

Carefully lay the paper on the surface, making sure there are no air pockets beneath the paper.

Lift the paper by one corner and lay in a flat area to dry at least overnight.

Check the paper every once in a while. If the edges of the paper start to curl you can place a weight on it, taking care to protect both the paper AND whatever object you are using as a weight.
